Stepping out of my room, I felt almost immediately nauseous. I haven't left my room since Wednesday for something other than class, and it was Saturday morning.
Enid was surprised to see me, but not so surprised when I didn't even sit with them during breakfast. Ajax was confused.
"You okay?" Ajax asked, sitting down in front of me.
I looked up. "Yeah, why?" I asked, chewing on leaves.
He shrugged. "You're not sitting with us, and you and Enid aren't talking. What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I shrugged.
"Ov-"
"I'm going to Jericho," I said, making him sigh as I stood up. "I'll be back before five."
He sighed, looking at me. "Don't go back to your old ways, Ovia. Please."
I smiled, leaned down, and gave him a peck on his cheek. "Love you," I said, before making my way to the cafeteria where I dumped my dishes.
I never actually planned on going to Jericho. I was actually just planning on having a halcyon day, but now I actually wanted to go to Jericho.
So I went to my room, grabbed my things, and got on the next bus to Jericho. Many girl were going, surprisingly. Probably for their dresses for the dance the following Saturday night.
I sat near the front of the bus with loud music in my ears while the bus pulled away. It was relaxing. The only ephemeral feeling I craved. Relaxation.

When stepping into the café, my eyes fell onto Tyler. He smiled, nodding, while carrying some coffee to people sitting at tables.
I stepped behind someone as they stood in front of the cashier, mixing their coffee. Tyler simply just started making my coffee without even asking.
Then the person in front of me turned around, and I immediately took a step back.
"You."
I looked up, meeting Marcus' eyes. I smiled softly. "Marcus, hi."
"You come to Jericho a lot," he stated as I walked passed him to the counter.
I handed Tyler the money, and took my coffee, before turning around, looking at Marcus again. "Stalker, much?"
"No," he laughed lightly. "I just noticed that you didn't hive the barista your order. He just knew it."
"Tyler," I smiled as Marcus and I left the café.
He frowned lightly. "Not here with someone?"
"No," I said, taking a sip of my coffee.
"You have to be here with someone, you know that?"
I giggled. "What are they going to do? Send me back to school?"
"Probably," he chuckled.
I looked around us as we stood on the street corner. "Well you don't look like you came with company..."
"Oh," he laughed. "No I am here with a group of friends, but they're suit shopping. I already have one somewhere in back of my closet."
"So you're alone?" I asked, again, and he laughed.
"Practically yes."
I nodded, looking down the pavement at all the different types of shops.
"Going dress shopping?"
