It was as if we were the new magic item. Just because I held Ovia's hand as we stepped into the after party.
Eyes were on us like we entered naked, even though we weren't. Bianca looked upset, Yoko avoided drama, Wednesday seemed surprised, and for the rest, they didn't say a word to us, even though they spoke to each other.
The little sister and the best friend. Poor Ajax.
When we stepped to the drink table, I saw Marcus look at us surprised, but he didn't seem mad. I wrapped my arm over Ovia's shoulder as she wrapped one around my waist.
"What would you like?" he asked.
"Anything," I sighed. "As long as it's strong."
"Smart choice," he said, mixing some things together.
"Bianca's free," Ovia grinned. He looked at me.
"You were her date?"
"Barely," I said, before taking my drink. "Thanks."
Ovia smiled, taking her drink, before we walked around the room. It was one of the oldest dorms down near the basements, which hasn't been used in years. Decades, actually. No wonder they used it for the party. Noise wouldn't travel, and no one would care.
Eventually Ovia and I settled down on a couch around a table, she sat beside me, scrolling through her phone, while I examined the children.
They didn't really dance, but like I knew these type of parties, they won't until about two hours in. And it ought to be about half an hour in now. It took us a while to find this place.
When looking down at Ovia's phone, I saw her giggle. She was scrolling through Instagram. She surely loved that app. She was looking at cat memes, as antisocial people do at super social events.
"Well, well."
We both looked up to see Bianca. She didn't look happy, yet still planted up a forceful smile.
I groaned lightly.
"This was surely a surprise."
"Isn't it," Ovia said, surprising me. "Now you saw us. Now you leave."
Bianca's eyes narrowed. "I'm sorry? I don't think I was talking to you."
"But I was talking to you," Ovia smiled, and I chuckled. "Get lost mermaid."
I liked this side of her not ganna lie. It was hot. I know she was only like this because her brother was an asshole, but I wouldn't mind it if she was like this all the time.
Bianca scoffed. "Little girl, keep quiet."
"Bitch, fuck off," Ovia bit, losing her smile.
Bianca scoffed, looking at me, but I just shrugged. What the fuck did she want me to do? I was turned on my bitchy Ovia. I wasn't going to do shit.
She scoffed, walking away. I smiled, looking down at Ovia, but she was already looking at her phone again.
I reached my hand down, taking her phone, before standing up. I reached my hand out, and she scoffed softly, a small smile on her lips. She took it, allowing my to pull her to her feet, before following after me.
I managed to pull her to an old bathroom near the place, locking us in. She giggled, looking up at me.
"We can't do it at a party, Xav."
