"I'm not doing any more undercover ops with her!" Bucky practically shouted at Steve.

"And here I thought the Sergeant and I had a great time in Dubai." Elena said from her chair around the conference table.

"You blew the place up, disarmed me, used me as a trampoline, pushed me out a window, and then you took my socks!" Bucky seethed.

"Y-you took his socks?" Steve questioned, suddenly distracted from the file in his hands.

"Violently took my socks. She all but ripped them off my feet." Bucky explained.

"You were supposed to be safeguarding my shoes." She retorted, astonished that they both thought the sock situation was apparently the most ridiculous thing that had happened on that mission.

"I was being shot at! Of course, I lost your shoes!" Bucky barked at her.

Steve looked back and forth between them both before letting out a sigh.

"Buck, you and Elena are partners now, that means you suck it up, take whatever ops are handed to you and pack an extra pair of socks." Steve reminded him.

Bucky snatched the file from his long-time friend before turning to Elena so he could bark out a warning about taking off her shoes as he would not give her another pair of socks. It had been nearly two weeks since Dubai and she still hadn't returned them which made Sam laugh for hours when he found out about it. As it turned out, Elena had a small habit of taking and switching clothes with everyone she went on an assignment with, which didn't happen anymore since she stopped consulting and officially joined the team but apparently, everyone else had all gotten used to it.

Natasha didn't care because the two women wore the same size in most things, while Barton circumvented the clothes stealing by gifting Elena the things she most often took from him and he once fondly recalled losing his pants in Korea during their time as agents for Fury. Meanwhile, during her stint as a consultant, Torres lost a shirt in Cambodia, Steve a belt in Brazil, and in Sam's case, he had lost a Marvin Gaye t-shirt, a pair of Adidas, and somehow... A pair of underwear.

"She took your boxers?" Bucky asked, confused.

"Yeah, that whole thing was actually my fault though. I couldn't exactly let her walk buckass naked through Johanessburg. She made it look really cute though like it was on purpose. Jo-burg has a killer fashion scene." Sam tried to explain.

"I am not even going to ask for the rest of that story." Bucky told him.

There was no way Bucky was going to let Argentina turn out anything like Dubai and he definitely wasn't going to let her steal his underwear. It wasn't much of a surprise when he found himself arguing with Elena again well before they ever even left the compound for the airport. She wanted to take the lead but the moment the suggestion came out of her mouth, Bucky shot it down faster than the last time Sam got Redwing in his face, telling her there was no way in hell she was ever, EVER going to be the lead on a case again after the whole debacle in Dubai.

Bucky didn't just shoot it down though, he listed all the reasons why she was a terrible asset to the team and counted out all the mistakes she had made on their last assignment because there were just so many. Elena didn't do that polite smile with murder in her eyes thing that she usually did when he was done, no she looked absolutely ready to peel all of his skin off, especially since at the very end of his tirade he called her stupid and reckless.

It was a good thing they were sitting in JFK Airport waiting for their flight because there was no chance she'd risk a homicide with so many witnesses around but it didn't stop her from picking a fight with him. Several times Bucky had to shush her because she had raised her voice at him causing people to stare.
