Dark Choco x Licorice 💔

requested? nope, just randomly thought of it one day-
angst without a fluffy ending AND there's an argument, is perfect way to start off 2023 😩✨
trigger warnings?: Arguing, mentions of past abandonment, past trauma also possible swearing
side notes?: SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 14 OF COOKIE RUN KINGDOM (the dark cacao kingdom episodes) also the first part is just taken from the dialogue-

"No more! I will be the sword's thrall no longer!" Dark Choco exclaimed, as he lunged his sword toward Pomegranate, scraping a bit of her hip, then throwing the sword in the snow. Pomegranate fell to the ground, holding her wound. Licorice went over to help her, with a worried expression on his face.

"You dare attack me?! Are you out of your mind?" Pomegranate yelled, as Dark Choco came to a realization point.

"I understand it now. All this time I struggled with to march on... Despite this path tormenting me more and more with each step. Strength can bring no good, if the strength is born from the suffering of others. All this time... I was blinded by this lust for power. It had led me astray..." Dark Choco Cookie rambled on, as he looked down at the sword in regret.

"I take it you do not care if the reports of tonight's events reach Dark Enchantress Cookie? You will profoundly regret your... choice." Pomegranate's words ran coldly, as she peered at Dark Choco Cookie. He turned around, as he went to walk the opposite way.

"I do not care." He replied, as he walked, his footsteps leaving deep prints in the snow. Licorice Cookie stood up, as he took off his hood, looking down at the ground. His palms clasped into fists.
(here comes the argument y'all)

"You promised me." Licorice mumbled. "You promised me that you wouldn't leave." Dark choco stopped, and turned back around.

"So you're just going to break the promise, and you're just gonna leave?" Licorice continued. Dark Choco didn't answer. Licorice looked back up at the tall man.

"You're just going to leave me, like this?! Poison Mushroom too? What about our promise?" Licorice's eyes had a look that he had never had to give someone before. A look of hatred, a look of anger, a look of Distain. Dark choco looked at the ground.

"I should have known that it was a promise that I wouldn't have been able to keep." Dark Choco replied. Licorice huffed.

"If you knew it was a promise you couldn't keep, then why even make the promise with me?! Just so you could leave?" Licorice yelled.

"I didn't want you to be upset at me if I told you I couldn't make that promise." Dark Choco responded, as he came closer to Licorice. Licorice grabbed him by the cape. Pomegranate and Poison Mushroom's eyes widened in surprise, as they weren't expecting Licorice to act this upset.

"Well don't lie to me just to make me feel better! What else have you lied to me about?!" Licorice was practically almost in tears by now, as the snow was picking up. He pushed Dark Choco away, him landing in the snow. Dark choco wiped the snow off his cheek. Licorice put a hand to his chest, gripping his cloak.

"Did you lie about loving me as well?! Did you never even love me in the first place...? Was our entire relationship just a way for you to be closer to escaping this place?!" Licorice whimpered, as tears flooded down his cheeks and landing on the snow.
"Of course you didn't love me, because out of all the people, in this group, you had to leave, just like everyone else I love. That's all I am to you? Just a scapegoat? And like a fool I trusted you and bonded you and fell in love with you. I can't believe I thought you were different..." He sobbed silently as his face had a mix of anger, sadness and hurt. Throughout his sentence, Licorice's voice was visibly breaking. Dark Choco got up and tried to hug Licorice, but pushed him away.

"No. Don't even try and touch me. You want to go so badly, then leave." Licorice swiped his hand, almost hitting Dark Choco, as Licorice backed away.

"What if I were to take you with me..?" Dark Choco Cookie asked, as he offered a hand to Licorice. Licorice looked at him with an empty look, tears still running down his face.

"Are you seriously thinking I'm going to take that? After you not only lied to me, but you're expecting me to betray the only home I've had?" Licorice said, as he smacked away the hand. His face turned into a resentful look.

"Licorice, that's not what I meant. I was saying if you don't want me to leave you, you can just come with me." Dark choco's face softened, as he attempted to have a sad smile. Licorice wiped the tears off his face, still having irritability on his face.

"My life is with Mistress(dark enchantress), and I'm not going to leave her side. Not after what she's done for me. I know I said I would find you, but I think that was said when I still trusted you." Licorice glared at Dark Choco. Dark Choco nodded. He grabbed Licorice's hand and kissed it, as a last goodbye. He turned around.

"I respect your decision, I wish you nothing but the best." Dark Choco spoke, one last word, as he walks out into the distance. Licorice falls at his knees onto the snow, tears pooling at his eyes. Poison rushes over.

"...No, Dark choco cookie! don't go!!" They shout. They look over at licorice who was sobbing silently, tears falling onto the snow.

"Licorice, are you okayyy...?" They hug him, as he sniffles. The wind picks up, as more snow surrounds the area. Pomegranate limps over, rubbing Licorice's back.

"I don't think I'm going to be okay for a while, kiddo."
