Emily's POV ◕‿◕
I went through my closet looking for something decent to wear , but I couldn't actually come up with something nice . After hours of searching , I finally decided to wear a blue short sleeve t-shirt and boyfriend jeans .
I took a fanny pack from my closet and put my stuff in it , then I decided I was ready to go out . I went downstairs and mom wasn't there .
" Mom ! ", I called out .
" I'm in here honey ", I heard her respond from her room and I ran in there . I found her on her bed , working on her laptop .
" I'm going now mom ", I said and gave her a hug .
" Ohkay hun , but be careful , and no funny stuff ", my mom said , and blood rushed to my cheeks .
" Bye mom ", I said and ran out because I didn't want her to say more .
I opened the front door and stepped out of the house . I took a deep breath , inhaling the sweet scent of the morning . The scent of the roses from the garden , mixed with the morning breeze , it was delightful .
I took out my phone and dialled Leo's number .
' hey babe ', he said and a smile crept it's way onto my face .
' hi Leo . Um.... Would you mind coming to pick me up ? ', I asked .
' sure , but where would you be ? ', he asked , and I felt like I needed a little walk , moreover I wasn't sure I wanted him to meet mom this morning .
' um .... You do know that lake at my pack right ? ' I asked
' of course I do , who hasn't heard of it ? Moreover your alpha took me to see it a certain time when I came visiting ', he said .
' cool , come pick me up there ', I said .
' okay , bye babe ', he responded .
' bye Leo ', I said and hung up .
I began walking down the street and the cool breeze tickled my skin . Suddenly my mind began to wander through various thoughts , and it finally settled on Leo , my newly found happiness .
I couldn't help but wonder how I was supposed to turn down his request to go to the dance . The dance was important , but it wasn't worth Jess and Jay getting seperated . My head was spinning . I didn't know what to do . The thoughts of how I was supposed to turn Leo down frightened me .
I was brought back to reality by the sounds of bird chirping , and I noticed that I had reached the lake . The scent of daffodils from the daffodil bush that was nearby , filled the air . I walked to the lake , and squatted next to it , and ran my fingers through the sparkling water .
On the water , I saw my reflection , my very imperfect self . I wasn't who I wanted to be . I just wanted to have a normal easier life , but all I got was struggles and pains .
I finally noticed someone else's reflection next to mine . It was Leo .
" You're here ", I said standing up .
" Are you alright ? Looked like you were lost in thoughts ", he asked , and I shook my head .
" nahhhh , I just miss this place , it has been a while since I came here ", I said , and though it was true , it wasn't the actual situation , since he was actually right because I was lost in thoughts .
" Oh ... I see you liked to come here a lot . It's actually beautiful ", he said and I nodded .
" I like the peace and quiet . For a potential tourist centre , only few notice it's beauty , while the rest rush to other popular and well known tourist centres ", I said .
" Yeah that's right , they probably don't know the value of this place ", he said .
" I'd say it's just like me , were both imperfect , and looked down on , and it just is the perfect place for me . I can't believe I haven't been here in a while . It feels like this past few days I haven't been myself . It's almost as if I have been living someone else's life ", I said , looking down . Leo wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me to him .
" Does that mean that you don't want us to be together ", he asked , and that was definitely not what I meant , but lately I barely have time for myself , alot had happened since the last few days .
" No !!! Not that , I really like you alot and being your girlfriend is the best thing that happened to me , but lately alot has happened ", I said and he gave me a reassuring smile , and that seemed to make me feel alot better .
" I understand if you need a break , if you want to cancel the movie date , then that's cool , just so you can have your alone time ", Leo said , and he sounded like he really understood me , he was just the best , but cancelling the movie date wasn't an option for me , since I had been looking forward to it .
" Noooo I can't miss the movie date for anything . It's just that I don't know if you'd still like me after you see every side of me . You'd probably not like how boring I am , and I'm not classy like your other ex's ", I said , looking down , and Leo let out a low growl .
" You're you Emily , and that's why I like you , you don't have to change yourself , however you are , I'd always like you ", he said , and put a daffodil in my hair .
I got on my tippy toes and gave him a kiss on the lips . I hoped for it to be short , but Leo being Leo , didn't let me pull out , instead he deepened it , and our tongues began to play a game of tag . We got out of breath , and he finally pulled out to let us catch our breaths .
" Let's go Mae and Ray are probably waiting for us ", I said .
" Let them wait , I need some alone time with my girlfriend ", Leo said , and I blushed .
" I'm sorry Alpha , but we have to get going ", I said , and his expression changed . He definitely didn't like it when I called him alpha .
" Fine , let's go ", he said , and led me to his car . I got in and he did same , then he started driving .
