Chapter Thirty three

                     Emily's POV (^o^)

         " Emily ", I heard a voice call out to me and I looked back to see Mae " she ran up to me.

          " Good thing I saw you here ", she started.

         " Hi ", I said.

         " Emily , why did you do what you did the other day ? I know you love Leo alot. I have seen it in your eyes. The way you look at him and the way you two act around each other ", she said and I eyerolled acting like I didn't care, but deep down heaven knows that I cared.

           " I'm sorry but you were mistaken. I don't love Leo. It was all an act and I'm glad that the chapter is over ", I said.

           " Emily, how can you day that ?"

           " I'm sorry but I'm tired of lying. If you do not appreciate my honesty then that's bad for you ", I said a bit too coldly.

             " I don't know you anymore Emily ", Mae said.

             " I have to go now ", I said then I walked out. A part of me felt really hurt that I had to do all of that and especially to Mae. She was like my older sister and she definitely did not deserve any of that.

      I walked into the hallway, the unending whispers seemed to get worse as I stepped in. I didn't fail to notice the people who literally scammed me head to toe. Others couldn't seem to hide the dissatisfaction they had as they saw me.

         I slid my headphones onto my head and began listening to ' lovely ' by Billie Ellish. Best song for the moment right ? I know. I went up to my locker and took my notes then I went to class. I hadn't seen Tara yet and I couldn't help but wonder where she was and why she wasn't there yet.

           I sat at my usual spot , trying my possible best to ignore the moving mouths that my eyes couldn't help but notice from the people in class, at least I couldn't hear them. I stared at the door waiting patiently for Tara to walk in when instead the teacher walked in. I took of my headphones.

       The lesson began but I couldn't pay attention as Tara wasn't in class , Hayley wasn't in class and Leo wasn't in class. What was going on ? I just hoped Tara was okay.

              First period went past and as soon as I heard the bell I got up and walked out of the class like a bird free from a cage, except the cage I was free from was a class full of people with unending mumblings.

           I finally caught sight of Tara. She was walking into the school. I ran up to her and gave her a hug.

             " Why did you miss first period ? " I asked curiously.

              " I was at Jess's place because Jay had to travel for some important work, but he'd be back today and I didn't wake up early today so you probably know the consequences of that ", she said and I nodded. Waking up late meant she probably got to the train station late, so she inevitably got to school late.

             " Why didn't you just stay at my place though ? " I asked.

             " It's already enough seeing you sad for a few minutes or hours, but I don't want to have to see you cry at night and I don't want to stop you from crying at night so I just didn't buy the idea of staying at your place ", Tara said and I instantly knew that I had the best friend in the whole world and no one can tell me otherwise.
