Complicated mate

Chapter Thirty

                     Emily's POV ✧ω✧

      The week had gone by really quickly , and it was Thursday already . Only one day away from the long awaited school dance . I couldn't help but wonder why Leo hadn't showed any signs of asking me out to the school dance , did he have someone else ? Maybe not .

       I shrugged off these thoughts from my head and got down , ready to go prepare myself from school . I went to my wardrobe , and took a hoodie and boyfriend jeans . I walked into the bathroom , and took a shower , stepping out , I got dressed and made my wavy hair into a messy ponytail , with two stray strands at the front . I took a deep breath and started wearing my white canvas .

       " Emily ", I heard my mom call out to me .

       " Coming mom ", I said , barely audible . I took my backpack and ran downstairs . Mom was too busy setting the table . I hugged her from behind .

      " Good morning mom ", I greeted , and she smiled .

      " Morning hun , have a sit ", she said , and I smiled back , sitting opposite her usual chair . She placed a plate of toast and juice in front of me .

      " Thanks mom ", I said .

     " You're welcome ", she responded , sitting down .

      " How's everyone at your school preparing for the dance ? " Mom asked , and right on queue , my food went down the wrong tract , and in a split second I was coughing .

      " Are you okay ? Have some juice ", mom panicked , and I took the glass and gulped down half it's content .

     " Feel better ? " She asked with so much concern .

      " Yes mom ", I responded . I took a quick glance at the wall clock , and I noticed it was already seven thirty .

     " I have to get going mom ", I said

      " Shouldn't you have more to eat , or are you fine ? "

      " Yes mom , I don't want to be late . Love you , see you later ", I said , standing up from the table .

     " Have a nice day hun ", mom said , and I smiled , walking out of the front door .

       I walked down the street , it was a little bit chilly , so I put my hand in my hoodie . I couldn't help but worry about my relationship with Leo . Wouldn't it be better if I just breakup with him ? At least that way I could save myself the stress of hurting him by turning him down .

        I let out a small sigh . Come to think of it , it has actually been a while since I have had a run or something . Of what use was it anyway ? My wolf was already weak , doing more strenuous exercise would only wear her out , and not doing any at all would make her even weaker . Why did my life have to be so messed up ?

        I started jogging slowly , working out in my human form was a better option , at least I wouldn't have to be disappointed at my wolf . I took of my hoody , to avoid getting it all sweaty and smelly . Thank goodness my hair was in a ponytail . I had to keep my pace relatively medium , because I didn't want to sweat too much , since I still had school .

       As soon as I realized that I was a few blocks away from school , I put the hoody back on . Surprisingly , I wasn't feeling at all hot or sweaty , weird . I arrived at school soon , andi walked in . Going to the hallway to get my books . I took them , closing my locker and turning to head to class when I heard someone call out to me.  It sounded alot like Tara . I looked back , and yes , it was Tara .

        " Why do you look so ... this-ish ", I said , referring to how rather breathless she was looking .

        " Oh ! All of this is just nothing , did you hear the news ? "

         " About what ? " I asked , not even a little bit curious , I knew how Tara could exaggerate .

         " the gown Hayley is going to wear to the ball is worth millions of dollars , she's going to wear a dress completely covered in diamond stones ", she said and I couldn't help but eyeroll continuing to make my way to class with her by my side .

          " Are you seriously going to say nothing ", she said and I let out a small sigh .

         " Is that surprising ? I think we all knew she was going to pull some kind of stunt and her wearing a very expensive dress isn't at all shocking ", I remarked having no interest to whine and make a fuss about how a spoilt ass brat was going to wear a lavish dress to the school dance .

        " Maybe you're right . Did you get your History homework done ? " She asked and I scanned my brain trying to remember if I got that done yesterday and it seemed like I did .

       " Yes , did you get yours done ? " I asked and I already knew the answer but it was more or less me trying to make small talk .

        " Nope , i was too busy for that ", she said .

   
        We walked to class and the day went pretty slowly , no drama no events , surprisingly boring . I heard the bell go off signalling that it was break time . I let out a huge sigh of relief , being tired from the seemingly never ending lessons .

           I looked around and I noticed that Tara wasn't in class . Where did she run off to ? I walked out of the class , my backpack behind my back and my notes in my hands . I walked to the cafeteria hoping to get a cup of smoothie and probably a hamburger . I didn't have appetite for anything more as anxiety filled sixty percent of the space in my stomach .

         I walked into the surprisingly quiet cafeteria . I looked around noticing the people who were chatting quietly while eating . I couldn't help but wonder what the big deal was , because usually when people spoke in hushed tones in the cafeteria then there was news .

          I walked up to the lunch lady and placed my order . I paid and she handed me my lunch . I turned , making my way to a table when I bumped into Mae . Mae ? What was she doing here ?

         " Hey Mae ", I said and I couldn't help but notice her tensed face .

      " Thank God I found you Emily , I need to talk to you about something ", she said .

       " About what ? " I asked curiously .

       " It's Leo , he got into an intense argument with Ray and they won't let each other go ", Mae said a tear drop slid down her face . For like the first thirty seconds I couldn't seem to process what she had told me .

        I let go of the tray I was holding and Instantly ran outside , Mae followed me .

         " Where are they ", I asked frantically .

         " At the garden ", She replied and I ran towards the garden without looking back .

           I came to a halt at the garden staring in disbelief at the scene that I couldn't make anything out of .

Author's Note : Sorry for another short chapter I promise that the next one is definitely going to be longer and emotions are going to be  all over the place .
