Rebecca:
We pull into an underground garage and I've never seen so many expensive cars all in one place. Sienna sleeps soundly in my arms as Jordan gets out the car and runs around to open mine. He carefully lifts Sienna from my arms and holds his other hand out for me. I slightly bite my lip and hold his hand as I step out of the car. I shut the door with my spare hand and go to let go of his; but his grip holds my hand tight and I can't help the warm feeling that washes over me. He holds my daughter in one arm as if she weighs nothing and leads me over to an elevator where we are joined by his security.
"This is my head of security and personal driver, Alex Mason" Jordan introduces him and I nod slightly.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Mason"
"Likewise ma'am" he acknowledges me while pressing the button up to the penthouse. My eyes widen and I look up at Jordan.
"Penthouse?" I question and he nods with a smirk.
"Wouldn't have any less" he says and I scoff before I realise I do it.
"I didn't mean that in a snobby way, Rebecca. I'm sorry I realise how that came across" he tries to justify himself and I just shake my head.
"It's ok, you don't need to explain yourself. You have the money, why not get the best?" I say with a slight smile just as the elevator stops moving and the doors open up to an open space foyer.Mason steps out first and Jordan lowers his hand to the small of my back to guide me through to his apartment. I can't deny the spark that goes off in my body when he does it, but I must focus. This isn't real, I will be here for the night and in the morning it will all be gone. As we enter the livingroom I can't help but look around in awe. It's all open space, with a huge white U-shaped sofa in the centre facing a magnificent fire place with the biggest flat screen TV I have laid eyes on hanging above. Beyond the impressive staircase that led upstairs was his kitchen and dining room, which also contained an incredible grand piano. I was fascinated by the expensive decor and the gorgeous view he had of Seattle.
Just then Sienna started stirring in Jordan's arms and her hand lands on his chest. Jordan's entire body language changes, and he suddenly becomes a statue as every single muscle tenses. I frown and open my arms out towards him.
"Let me take her" I say and almost instantly she is in my arms while Jordan tries to control his accelerated breathing. I decide not to push the matter and decide I need to get her to bed.
"Do you have anywhere I can put her to sleep?" I ask, and he visibly relaxes before smiling at me.
"Yes, follow me" he says and I follow him up the stairs and down the long hallway where he stops outside a door. He opens it to reveal a big double bed coming out from the right side of the room with a chest of draws opposite. There's a vanity straight ahead of the door and on the far left side is a door that I assume leads to an en suite.
"Wow" I whisper as I look around.
"You can lie her on the bed, this can be your room for as long as you want" Jordan says and I lower my gaze as I lie Sienna on the right side of the bed. I kiss her little head before straightening up but not looking him in the eye.
"Thankyou but I don't want to be a burden. We will be out of your hair by tomorrow morning" I mumble and when I finally look up I see Jordan walking around the bed to stand right in front of me. I look up into his stormy grey eyes and I see so many emotions; anger, fear and genuine concern. He lifts his hand and I gasp when it cups my cheek in a soft caress.
"You and Sienna could never be a burden to me. You haven't told me much, but I can tell you need this, and although I'm told I don't have a heart, I could never throw you out on the street again" he admits and the tears fill my eyes. I lean into his touch and clear my throat.
"Well from that admission, to me you do have a heart. And I will be forever grateful" I say and he smiles a shy smile that makes my knees weak.
"Do you want anything to eat?" He asks and I shake my head.
"Ok well I will leave you to it, my bedroom is straight ahead of you once you come down the staircase if you need me. Sweet dreams Rebecca" he tells me and leaves the room before I can say another word. I go to lie down when I realise I don't have any other clothes. I shrug to myself and sit on the bed; it's not like I know any different.A couple of minutes later there's a knock at the door.
"Come in" I say and Jordan walks in holding a pile of clothes.
"I know it's not a lot, but I figured you'd want to wear something else to bed. There's towels in the bathroom if you want a shower. Goodnight" he puts the clothes on my bed and walks back out. I pick the clothes up and he's given me one of his baggy shirts and a little girls pyjama set for Sienna. Where did he get this from? Perhaps he has a daughter? But there were not toys or anything girlie in sight. I manage to change Sienna without waking her before taking off my poor excuse of an outfit and replacing it with Jordan's T-shirt. It's soft on the skin and smells of Jordan. I can't help but smile and snuggle into it when I get into bed. I pull Sienna into my arms and she immediately buries herself close to my body. I fall asleep almost immediately and dream about the coppered haired, grey eyed man that has given me a glimpse of what the good life is.
