Jordan:
"Megan stop looking for yourself, you already have a ring" this is the third time Megan has pointed to a ring, I've gotten excited and then she tells me she likes it. But I don't know who would have been worse; Megan, Hope or Evelynn.
"You're right, I'm sorry I'm not helping. Ok knowing Rebecca, she likes simplicity and elegance. How about I find three and you pick the final one? I know how important this is to you so I'll let you make the final decision" she says with a smile and I smile back. Megan was the right choice.Thirty minutes later and I have three. One had sixteen little diamonds all clustered in the shape of a square, another was oval shape; one big diamond surrounded by little diamonds and the third was a bigger diamond in the middle of two smaller ones.
"That one" I point to the third one and by the look on Megan's face; that's her favourite too. It's simple, it's not too out there, and when Megan put it on her right finger it screamed elegance and class.
"Looks like we got a winner" Megan informs the assistant who smiles and takes the ring from Megan, placing it in a burgundy velvet box and putting the total trough the till."Cheers Megan, I owe you big time" I say as Mason pulls up outside Megan's house. Thankfully only two paparazzi caught us walking in, but by the time they got their cameras ready we were in the store with the doors locked and were allowed to escape out the back.
"No problem Jordan. I'm honoured you asked me to come with you" Megan replies with a genuine smile. When Dominic first brought Megan home, all I could do was roll my eyes. Another girl, another day I would always say. But she's changed him, grounded him. I never really took the chance to get to know Megan, but now I have Becca, I think that will change.
"See you later" Megan gets out the car and leaves me with Mason as he continues off home.Christmas Day was soon upon us, and the smile on Sienna's face when she sees mum and dad's display of her presents has made me slightly less nervous. The ring is burning a hole in my pocket, but I've decided to wait until the evening and take her out to the boathouse to propose.
"Daddy are these all mine?" Sienna asks me and I grin before kneeling down next to her.
"They're all yours princess. Merry Christmas" I kiss her cheek and she giggles.
"Jordan honey" mum approaches me and gives me a kiss on my cheek, something that has only recently been able to happen. I regret rejecting all the love my parents tried to give me as a child, but my mother has told me on numerous occasions that it wasn't my fault. It was all psychological and that affection will come in time. Well, better late than never. The whole family are sat around the big Christmas tree in my parent's living room. Sienna in the middle of the circle, surrounded by presents of all sizes. I look over at Rebecca and she's glowing. She has happily joined in on my family's Christmas jumper tradition and settled on a reindeer design. My love for her is overwhelming; making my last present to her all the more right.
"I can't believe Hope got Sienna a miniature quad bike" Rebecca moans for the fourth time since Sienna revealed her present from Auntie Hope. She hasn't stopped riding it around the house, and I know Rebecca is going to go spare when we bring it back.
"Be quiet, she loves it. That's all that matters" I tell her and she just rolls her eyes before taking a deep breath.
"I have one more present for you" she tells me and I chuckle at the irony.
"So do I" I reply and she giggles.
"Can I go first? I've been so nervous" she asks and I mentally roll my eyes. Tell me about it.
"Go for it" I say.She hands me a small box and watches me closely as I undo the bow and open the box up. I almost drop it from the shock.
"Is this?" I start to ask, but of course it's what I think it is. It's a positive pregnancy test. I look back up into the gorgeous blue eyes I love so much and they're glistening.
"Yeah it is, daddy" she slightly smiles and a mega watt smile spreads across my face. I scoop her up in my arms and spin her around.
"I can't believe this, we're going to have a baby" I exclaim and she laughs her musical tune.
"We are, we're having a baby" she says through laughter and I kiss her with all the love I have.
"This makes my present a lot easier" I say and she slightly frowns.
"Why?" She questions and I reach in to my jacket pocket and pull out the burgundy velvet box I've been hiding for weeks."Rebecca" I start and get down on one knee holding her left hand while her other goes up to her mouth.
"Before you, I was this controlling, arrogant businessman who never had time for his family. Never took the time to ask how they're lives were going or even open up enough to hug my parents. But you came along, with your mini- me and my world shifted completely. You've made me see that there is more to life than just work." I pause as I can feel myself choking up, looking up to see Rebecca's tears flowing freely down her soft cheeks."People probably say I still am a controlling arrogant businessman, but I hope they also say I've become a family man. And now, knowing we are going to bring a child- a mixture of me and you- into this world, I can't imagine my life to be any different. Rebecca Kramer, will you do the honour of marrying me?" I conclude my speech and Rebecca nods her head so fast it would probably fall off if it could.
"Yes of course, of course I'll marry you" she chokes up and I slide the ring on her finger. I stand up, keeping eye contact and she plants a kiss similar to mine when she gave me her present; full of love. She looks down at the ring and her eyes widen.
"Jordan it's gorgeous, did you pick this?" She asks and I blush.
"I may have had help" I admit and look back up at the house, seeing my entire family gathered at the French doors.
"Merry Christmas my angel" I say to Rebecca and she smiles.
"Merry Christmas handsome" she replies before wrapping her arms around my neck and bringing my lips down to hers.
