There are people who matters, and there are some who don't. Some people are significant, and some are irrelevant. 

Some chooses to be in the dark, alone and would not even care of anyone else except for themselves. And there are those who love the attention. 

The industry is filled with both these kind of people. 

One's who prefer being alone and the ones who prefer to be in the limelight. 

Just like Von. 

Von is one of those who's interests do not align with everyone else's. He's one of those who adores magazines rather than usual conversations with his colleague. 

He's been in the company for three years and yet, he still is invisible to everyone. 

His days always start the same way. He wakes up, cooks himself with the available noodles he have in stock, drinks his favorite cola and heads towards the office on time all the time. 

Von works like a bee everyday, in front of his assigned personal computer and stands up during his designated break schedules. 

He is the typical bee worker. He isn't on top of his team, he displays enough mastery of the required skill and he shows average performance amongst everyone else in the company. 

To him, life is just about coming to work, going home and not even minding if life truly matters for him or not. 

But today, life wanted something different for Von. 

"Von!" I called out his name out of nowhere. I didn't hear any response so I stood up and approached his station. I caressed his shoulder in a simple attempt of gathering his attention. 

He looked up, finally noticing me and removed his headset.

"Yes po?"

"The client would like to do a side by side with you. You know what to do right?"

"But, why me TL?"

"Mid-performers. I guess they have a different plan for us today. Can you do it?"

"Yes TL."

Von is obedient. He keeps his head down and makes sure that things do not bother him. 

In a few minutes, a blonde woman in her red suit sat right beside Von, with her headset plugged in and ready to listen.

I could simply wish that things do not go wrong, but at the same time I am on my feet all the time ready to assist everyone that I am responsible for. 

And just as destiny chose today as Von's great day, all of his calls turned into kudos calls. 

The client sitting beside him looked real happy with how he performed that day. 

All of a sudden, his day seemed brighter than the usual. He felt different. 

For the first time in his working life, he felt different. 

"Good Job today Von. It seems that you can do way better than the trend you've been doing for some time now. I totally think you can be on top of this team, or of this entire site." the client shook his hand as she stepped away and proceeded on her next side by side session.

As soon as she left, I came to him with a smile.

"Where did that come from Von?"

"I'm not sure TL. I just did what I can do."

"Well, you did way better than anyone today. I just hope this stays even when the clients are not around. We'll talk after alright?"

"Yes TL. Can I take my lunch now though?"
