One of the most crucial part in launching an account in the BPO industry is the hiring process.

This is the beginning of things in an operational perspective.

Once the job description and roles and responsibilities are defined, it is now time to sit in endless interview sessions to find the best fit.

The recruitment process will usually start in the morning. Most of the times, it's called initial interviews.

The process may vary, depending on the need of an account.

Ours, will require three different categories, back office support, data analysts and of course, the customer service part.

Quiet frankly, it gets exhausting. In about two or three weeks, training has to commence. Melai and Travis are just about to finalize their separation from the previous company, same as with J and Stacy who will be joining the entire training process as well.

Both of them are joining the company as team leaders. The pioneers. The entire training process will be initiated by a Six Sigma trained personnel sent out by the international company themselves.

Aside from the people who will be taking care of operations, is also the hiring process for professional psychologists and psychiatrists who will be tasked to take weekly check-ins with the employees. It's an added requirement with the kind of job that they will be taking in.

I am tasked to do the final interviews for now, while J and Stacy are finalizing their resignation as well.

And quiet frankly, this part is very exhausting.

"Hey!" bumungad ang nakangiting mukha ni Shane sa akin.

"Hey." I look up at her and see that she has three cups of coffee in her hand.

She handed one of the venti cup to me, to which I was so happy about.

"We're having lunch later. Do you want to join?"

"I'm not sure if I ca get out of all these."

"Sure. We'll drop by here later. See you."

"Wait." ngunit nakaalis na siya bago pa man ako maka-react.

I called on the next candidate.

She looked really shy and was very cautious of her entire environment. Nag-aalangan pa siyang maupo kung hindi ko lamang siya sinabihan na gawin iyon.

"So, how are you?"

"I'm.. I'm doing fine ma'am."

"Call me Sari. We don't call each other ma'am or sir in here."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize." she stiffened, "Well, I'm sure you have been asked several questions during your initial interview. I only have one though."

She looked at me straight in the eyes.

"Why should I hire you?'

A typical question that requires a sincere answer. I can see her eyes light up for a bit.

"I.. I think that you should hire me because.. because.."

She stuttered.

"The only thing I can guarantee is my determination to work hard. I have no experience, I haven't completed my education. But I am a fast learner. I think that above all, it is what everyone needs to learn and to become great in life. The capability to be open to knowledge all the time."
