Today has been horrible, I woke up in the morning and found out my phone charger wasn't all the way plugged in last night so my phone was dead, and then I burnt my english muffin, so I didn't eat anything this morning, and then I went out to start my car and it didn't work, and then my dad and I got into another heated argument and he almost threw something at me. I had to call Nick to ask if they could swing by my place on the way to school so I could get there, and Matt seemed like his normal pissy self when they arrived. I started to cry in the van on the way to school because I was just really stressed and honestly pretty sad, but I knew I needed to put on a happy face so people didn't worry about me. Now I was sitting in my last class of the day, Math, that I wasn't understand today at all. I had Nick and Matt in my Math class and Nick kept trying to get my attention.
"Psst, psst, AVA, psst." Nick whispered.
"What,"
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine." I gave him a convincing smile and kept doing my work.
"Are you su-"
"Nick please stop talking." The teacher said from his desk.
"Sorry sir," He slumped in his seat.
The bell rang shortly after and I walked to my locker to put my stuff away.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Nick walked up.
"Nick, I said I'm fine!" I snapped.
"Goddamn, alright, sorry." He put his hands up defensively.
"No, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you," I sighed.
"Do you want to call and talk about it later?" He asked.
"Not really, I'll be alright, I promise." I gave him another convincing smile and we walked to the front of the school.
We met everyone outside and piled into the triplets mini van.
"Matt told me about your car, I'm sorry about it, if you need, I can come pick you up tomorrow for school," Nate smiled at me.
"Thanks Nate, I appreciate the offer, and I'll take you up on it, I don't have the money right now to get it fixed if I'm getting a prom dress this weekend." I let out a laugh.
"I totally get it, I could take a look at it if you need me to, I mean I know a little about how a car works." He laughed.
"I mean, feel free to take a look at it." I smiled.
"OMG! Ava I got you a present yesterday when we I was at the mall with my brother! I'll give it to you when we get to my house," Alahna grinned.
"Omg cool!"
We pulled into Alahna's driveway and all got out of the car and walked into the house. The boys stayed downstairs and Alahna and I went up to her room for a second so she could give me the thing she got.
"I got you a matching necklace we could both wear to prom! I got one that's identical!" She grinned.
"STOP! I love it so much! Thank you!" I gave her a huge hug.
"Here let me put mine on and we could totally match right now!" She took an identical box out of the drawer and put hers on.
I put my necklace on and we walked back downstairs and into the backyard and just sat around and talked. I stood up and Matt did at the same time which confused me but I walked by the pool and felt a push on my arm. I fell into the pool and came right back up and glared at Matt.
"Fuck you, asshole." I pulled him into the pool causing me to go under with him.
He held onto my arm under the water and we looked into each other eyes for a second under the water until I pulled myself away from him and came back up and saw that everyone was laughing. Alahna then jumped into the pool and everyone else did too. I avoided Matt in the pool as we all just messed around with each other, splashing and dunking each other under the water.
"Alright, not going to lie, it was really funny when Matt pushed you into the pool you weren't expecting it at all." Nick laughed.
"Oh ha ha, yeah, but at least he was pulled in." I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah fuck you for that." Matt pushed himself out of the pool.
"You fucking started it, you can't even be fucking mad." I rolled my eyes and got out of the pool as well.
We all hung out at Alahna's for about 2 more hours until the triplets were taking Nate home.
"Am I driving you home or what?" Matt asked.
"Uh, no, she's going to stay over night at my place since her brother is at their grandparents this weekend and isn't lonely." Alahna smiled at him.
"I am?" I asked.
"Yeah." She looked at me.
I said my goodbyes to Nick, Chris, and Nate as they left to go and then went up to Alahna's room to take some of my clothes out of the drawer she made for me in her closet.
"Can we go run to my house real quick to get my wallet and stuff?" I asked her.
"Yeah but I'm coming in with you," She smiled.
"Why?"
"To make sure you're safe."
"How did you find out about this morning, I haven't told anyone." I asked her, referring to my argument with my dad.
"You've been acting weird all day, and the last time this happened was last week when your dad threw something at you when he was angry." She sighed.
"Oh," It's all I could say as we went downstairs and got in the car to get my stuff from my house.
"Do you want to stay all weekend? My mom said you could." She asked.
"Yeah, sure, I guess." I smiled.
"Alright! We're going to have so much fun don't worry!" She grinned.
We walked into my house and my dad thankfully wasn't there. I ran up to get my wallet and then my makeup bag and some other small things then ran back downstairs and we left. Locking the door behind me we went back to the car, and we decided we were going to drive to get food. We sat in the parking lot just laughing and talking.
"You know, I wasn't expecting Matt to push you into the pool." She laughed.
"God, I hate him so much." I rolled my eyes.
"Alright bro," She laughed.
"What?"
"Nothing, come on, lets head back." She smiled at me and we drove back to her house.
