"Do not force your friends to support you."
You might wonder why some of your friends in the real world or even family do not show you care for your passion. Even if how close you were before or in the present, on some occasions, you cannot feel their presence and support towards you. And that's the harsh truth! We should accept the fact that we cannot force them to like our books. We are not everyone's cup of tea either. In the context of business, strangers are mostly the consumers. This is applicable too, in the writing industry. The ones whom you do not know personally will embrace your works and support you all the way, while your family and friends have different interests in life also. And that is totally fine!
To patronize our crafts is not our friends' obligation; thus, we must not oblige them to do so. Instead of getting upset, it is better to turn our eyes to people who value & love us as writers. Be thankful to the ones who stayed with you, rather than chase those who left or were far to reach.
