"Don't let others hold your pen."Readers play an important role in our writing journey. They are like the air that keeps our fire burning constantly. However, in some situations, their wind is so strong that will kill our passion within. They try to dictate us on what to write, how the story goes and even how to end the story we write—and that is alarming. We, writers, must write the things we want to, and not from their instructions.
Remember, when we were children, our parents guide our hands to take grip of the pen so we will know how to make a stroke, slowly by slowly; then eventually, we can write on our own. The moment we started to write on our own, they allowed us hold the pen alone and scribble what we want to. It is the same with writing. It is alright to be guided by the ones who knew already the principles of writing. They can suggest, they can correct, and they can help us improve. But we must not let ourselves be controlled by them. We have our ways and plans for our crafts. Let them guide you, but never give them the chance to take hold of your neck. Do not be a puppet, rather be firm. Do not let readers nor other people take away your writing desires. You have full control of your pen. You have the liberty.
