"Be sensitive to the needs of fellow writers."

"Relate to other people. Do not be monastic," shared Pastor Jo in the congregation. These words hit my old self hardly. I used to work for myself alone, not thinking about the welfare of other people. I want to be on the spotlight all the time; nobody else but me. In this community of writers, we need to look out for our fellows who need assistance. If somebody needs a real review for his book cover or description or blurb, then do it genuinely. If you have enough knowledge in terms of technical, grammar, punctuation & other ways to better one's craft, then share your learning heartily. If someone needs a hand to help him promote or market his newly published book, then do it cheerfully, expecting nothing in return. If someone badly needs financial assistance with a minimal amount and your pocket is plenty, lend generously and joyfully. If somebody is upset, encourage him with your truthful and consoling words.

Oftentimes, we got blinded that we focused solely on our success, on our betterment. We forget the fact that our brothers and sisters are also our responsibility — by offering them aid through any means that we can, and are available on our end. As the Apostle Paul urged, "Carry each other's burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ." What is the law of Christ then? It is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. This is the second greatest commandment. Therefore, we must bear a heart — willing to serve our co-writers for them to learn, grow and succeed — the heart of a selfless one.
