Reign's POV
"Will you marry me?". I held my breath. That's the last thing I expected to hear tonight. I looked around the room. Everyone was looking at me in eve. Like I'm the luckiest girl alive right now. My eyes landed back on Blake. I've been waiting for this. Six years ago I told myself this is the man I want to settle down with...but why don't I feel like that anymore? In my head I know this is the best decision for me, but in my heart I know I don't want this. I'm too scared of the unknown.
With a heavy heart, I answered him. "Yes, I'll marry you". Everyone started cheering. Blake jumped up, placed the ring on my finger and engulfed me in a tight hug. " I love you Baby", he whispered in my ear. The cheering started to fade away and all I could hear was my heart beating fast, telling my body this is not what you want, but I fought against it. " I love you too".

"That's such a beautiful ring", strangers complimented my ring as they examined it. "Thank you", I responded. After numerous people congratulated me, I excused myself to the bathroom and locked the door. I started hyperventilating cause I didn't know how to get myself out of this situation. A knock on the door snapped me out of it. "Hey, other people need to be in there as well you know", someone nagged. I flushed the toilet like I was busy using it and made my way outside. The girl that nagged looked at me annoyed but when she saw my face, she started looking concerned. "Are you okay?", I heard her ask as I slid past her. "I'm fine" I rushed out as I made my way outside towards Blake's car.
After squeezing past people that still wanted to congratulate me, I finally made it outside and got into the car. Peace and quiet. I leaned back into the seat and just breathed the fresh air in that was blowing in through the rolled down window. When I looked at the house again, that same girl that I slid past at the bathroom earlier, was making her way outside. She popped out a cigarette and started smoking. Her eyes locked with mine through the open window. She started making her way towards me. "Needed some peace and quiet as well?, she asked me. "Yeah". I was too out of my mind to hold a proper conversation. "You know, you could've just said no". That seemed to get me sitting upright in my seat.
"What are you talking about?", I played it cool. "Sweety, anyone can see you are not happy that you said yes, they're just too uptight to say it", she said emotionless and puffed more. Feeling like there's nothing to hide, I leaned back into my seat. "It's that obvious huh?", I whispered. "Yip", she popped the 'p'. She through her cigarette on the ground and stepped on it. " Life is sort. You have one chance to live it the way you want to, or let your fear decide how you live it", with that said, she walked back into the house.
Talk about good timing to give great advice. She hit the nail on the head with that one. " Hey, what are you doing outside?", another voice popped up a few minutes later. It was Blake. He got into the drivers seat. "Just needed some air. People were crowding me to see the ring and congratulate me". He laughed. " Other girls would love all of that attention but as always, you are different. That's one thing I love about you", he said then kissed me on the forehead. "Come on, let's head home. Its been a long day". He started up the car and we drove off.
~~~
"Goodnight Baby", Blake whispered behind me as he was slowly falling asleep. "Goonight Love", I responded. Not long after that, light snores could be heard from Blake. I on the other hand, couldn't sleep at all. What the fuck have I gotten myself into?
