Chapter 18

Reign's POV

" Hi, do you maybe know where I can find Akieno Soma?", I asked the same question to the 30th person in the street. The man started to talk in Japanese and I couldn't understand any of it. "Its okay, but thank you...uhm...Ariegato", I walked off in another direction. Things aren't looking too good. I landed about 2 hours ago and immediately started my search for Akieno. A long bench came into view so I sat on it. This is starting to feel hopeless. " Why the long face in the beautiful City of Tokyo?", a man's voice made me snap my head towards him. It sounded like Akieno but like an older version of him. "To put it sort, I'm looking for someone but I don't know where to start".

He hummed like he was thinking. I took the chance to look at him. He was wearing a black suit, pointers and his face looked sugar daddy worthy. "I know a lot of people in the city, can I know the name of the person you're looking for?", he asked. I sighed, already feeling hopeless to even give the name cause I know he won't know him. "Akieno Soma". His eyes went wide but only for a split second. "I think I have an idea of who that might be". My heart rate picked up. "Wait, you know him?" I asked excitedly. "I think I do yes". I jumped up from the bench. "Can you tell me where he is please?". I couldn't wait any longer to see Akie. "Even better I'll show you".

This started to sound way too good to be true. "Wait, are you a serial killer?", I asked suspiciously and crossed my arms infront of me to look more intimidating. "Well it depends, how many people do you have to murder to be branded as a serial killer?", he asked me with an amused smile on his face. That's a good question though. "Like...7?", I answered unsure of myself. He made a sarcastic thinking face. "Nope, I think we good". I sighed out of relief. "You are a funny one", he commented as he got up from the bench and led the way to his car.

"So how do you know Akieno?", he asked me as we drove to wherever he was taking me. "We met on the flight I was working on". He nodded. "Paris?", he questioned. How does this dude know so much like a genie? "Yeah Paris...are you a genie?", I asked him. "He started laughing at my silly question. "What makes you ask that?", I narrowed my eyes. "Cause you are correct with everything you say or ask". He hummed. "You're right maybe I am a genie". Feeling like I made the conversation awkward with my dumb questions, I decided to let the remaining of the drive be spent in silence.

He stopped infront of a courthouse. My heart rate started picking up. "Did I do something wrong?", I blurted out in panic. He looked at me confused, but then realization flushed over his face. "No no, this is where I work, I just have to pick up some papers then we'll do your stop next. I'm a lawyer", he explained hastily to calm me down, which worked. "Thank goodness, you had me worried there". He just shook his head. "I'll be back in less then 5 minutes". He wasn't lying. In two minutes he was back in the car with papers.

"Alright, your stop next", he commented. We drove for another 5 minutes before we stopped infront of a huge house. It looked like a Japanese castle and beautiful pink trees surrounded it. "It looks beautiful here", I thought out loud. "Thank you, my wife and I had to give the highest bid to get it cause the whole city wanted it", he laughed while remembering the old memory. Sounds like they are pretty wealthy. "Come on", he commented and got out of the car. That was Akieno's favourite words to me while we were in Paris together. We entered the house and I couldn't stop gawking as I looked around. It was breathtaking. "Honey, I'm home!", the man commented. Come to think of it, I never asked his name. How rude of me. A woman appeared from the hallway. She had long and beautiful straight black hair with a red dress on. "Hey baby", they greeted each other with a kiss and hug. She looked my way confused. "Who is this?", she asked. "She is looking for Akieno, and come to think of it, I never asked her name. What is your name?", he asked.

"My name is Reign". The woman's eyes went wide. "Wait, Akie's Reign?"
