Chapter 20

Akieno's POV

"Akie, I need to tell you something ". She said with a serious look on her face. "Go on", I encouraged her. "Blake and I...we...well you see", I knew where this was going. She chose him. He was her first choice. "You chose him didn't you?", I asked. Her eyes went down to her heads. "Im not gonna make excuses, but yes I chose him out of fear of not knowing what would happen if I chose you". This girl and her fear of the unknown. I leaned closer to her and placed my forehead against hers. " We can work through your fear of the unknown,  together" I whispered.

"He proposed to me and I said yes". That caught me off guard. I moved away from her. "If you're engaged to him then what are you doing here Reign?". I asked. This was messing with my head. "I'm not engaged with him anymore. I caught him in bed with someone else". That son of a bitch, I knew he wasn't good enough for Reign. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, but why are you telling me all of this?". She didn't look like it phased her that he cheated. "Don't be sorry. That was my way out. I didn't know how to break the engagement but he made it easy for me. Then I made my way straight to you". I didn't know what to make of this. "I don't know what to do with all this information Reign", I said to her honestly.

We sat there in silence for a few minutes until she spoke up. "I'll give you some space to process everything. I just want to say one more thing. You were never my second choice. I was going to find a way to break up the engagement even if he didn't cheat. My way back to you". She got up and walked out the door, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

I sat there unsure of myself. She came all the way here for me, but did she only choose me because Blake fucked up? Why the fuck does this even matter to me if she's here right now. I've been mopping for a month over her and now that she's finally here I'm contemplating if I'm her second choice or her first.

"Goodmorning mum", I greeted as I walked into the kitchen. I decided to spend the night here since Reign is sleeping here as well. Even though we don't really know where we stand with each other, I still want to be close to her. "Morning honey, there's pancakes in that plate over there", she said and pointed towards it. "Thanks Mum". I dug into the pancakes but when I looked up I chocked. Reign was coming down the hall in a sexy ,silky night dress that reached over her knees and hugged her at all the right places. Fuck, she's making it hard to think things through. "Goodmorning sweety, you're looking better in that night dress of mine then I ever could", my mum complemented her. Reign blushed. "That's not true but thank you, it's yours after all and I must say you have great taste", Reign responded.

I cleared my throat which made Reign look at me. Her arms flew across her chest to cover up the low cut that almost exposes her breast. She wasn't doing a very good job at it cause that action only made her breast stand out more. "Akie stop staring, I raised you better then that", Mum scold me. "I wasn't staring", I retorted and rolled my eyes. "Right and I'm queen Elizabeth", Mum joked which made Reign chuckle. "Sweety, you can head to the bathroom and clean yourself up. I'll bring you a set of clothes so this pervert can stop eating you up with his eyes". This woman really had no problem embarrassing me. "Can't believe I'm being called a pervert by my own mother", I thought out loud.

Reign disappeared up the stairs with her gorgeous self and my mum stayed with me in the kitchen. "So, how'd the talk go last night? Did you guys do the nasty-". I leaned over the marble island and pressed my palm gently against her foul mouth. "Mum, please don't finish that sentence. I'll tell you what happened, but respond like a grown up and not a teenage boy". She rolled her eyes and nodded her head. I removed my hand slowly. "So, she told me she got engaged with Blake, but then he cheated on her. Now I'm trying to figure out if she was ever gonna end up choosing me even if he didn't cheat on her". Mum nodded. "I understand son, but remember this. Don't break your head over 'what ifs' cause they are just that. She already told me everything and it's so obvious how much she loves you. Don't let that one thing ruin what you two can have son". My mum always knew just what to say. "Thanks mum, I needed to hear that".

She smiled. "Anytime honey, now get up there and make her your bi-". "MUM!!!"
