I drove to a cafe to meet up with Calum for the second time to talk about the whole Luke situation. Calum excused himself that night and left my room without another word.
I parked my car at one of the vacant spots, I got out of the car and stroll towards the small cafe. I went in a small bell alerted my presence in the cafe. I found Calum sitting at a booth at the end of the cafe and immediately walked towards him.
Calum noticed my approach and took his sunglasses off. I sat on the seat in front of him, and placed my bag beside me. "Morning" Calum smiled. He was in an awfully good mood, I greeted him similarly as well not wanting to seem rude.
One of the waitress came to take our orders and left once we have made our final decision since there were so many breakfast meals to choose from. I decided on some blueberry-strawberry waffles and whip cream along with nutella as a condiment which was amazing. I think every restaurants and cafe needs to make nutella as their default condiment, I'm sure they'll attract more customers especially customers like myself.
"You look lovely today" Calum leaned forward and placed his elbow on the table so he could place his chin on the back of his hand. "Thank you" I smiled.
My outfit wasn't anything too special, I didn't wear anything new. I just wore a black suedette fringe crop top and matched it with some light washed denim jean shorts along with a long sleeve loose light peach colour cardigan. To top it all off I just had to wear the actual love of my life my white Nike Air Force 1, I don't think I love any other shoes more than I love those; they are my children.
"Why did you leave so early last night?" I asked Calum questioningly. "Because I had to run a few errands, nothing huge really" Calum shrugged, well if he says so.
Our meals arrived sooner than expected, mine tasted delicious especially with the nutella condiment. Calum decided to go with some bacon sandwich along with waffles as well as french toasts and a side of bacon, Calum quotes
"Life's too short to just eat one meal at a cafe that sell hundreds".
Soon after we finished our meals Calum decided on paying for us both, of course I knew better than to interfere guys who wanted to pay for your food. "Let's take a walk to ease the food in" Calum suggested, I agreed because I was so full, I could barely breathe.
We were walking on the pathway just enjoying Sydney and how peaceful it was even with all the dogs barking, children laughing, adults talking; it still felt peaceful to me.
"How is he?" I asked Calum, "Who?" He questioned back. "Luke, how is he doing?" I asked him. "He's alright, just a little peachy" I turned my head over to Calum and sighed.
"I feel really bad" Calum wrapped his arms around my shoulder and rubbed my torso reassuringly. "You didn't do anything wrong" Calum assures. "If anything, you did the right thing by telling him the truth" for some reason I felt as if the truth wasn't the truth, it felt like a lie to me because no matter how much I tell myself that I don't feel anything for Luke I would always feel something else.
"I guess you're right" I agreed. "Are you planning to move on?" Calum asked after a short silence. We continued walking side by side, bumping against each other at some points but usually we'd brush it off.
"Not exactly, I really want to focus on continuing my weekly youtube videos" I explained to Calum, he nodded understandingly.
"What about you? Are you interested in relationships?" I asked Calum. He took sometime before answer rather hesitantly.
"I don't know, it's hard you know? I can't stay tied down to a girl if I'm always going around, touring and besides even if there is a girl I want to be tied down to she wouldn't want anything to do with me, well from what I assumed"
"I agree, but don't be too hard on yourself Cal" I placed my hand on his shoulder giving him a smile before we continued walking around town with people walking past every time.
"Look" Calum pointed at a building.
"Remember that?" He asked. I nodded, it was where we had our dance night. "Those were the days" Calum and I laughed as we reminisce the nights where we spent laughing about ourselves, it's ridiculous when you think about it.
Soon enough, after going around town laughing and talking about our old school years we came to an end as we both left in our separate cars. I waved Calum off before he drove away.
Today was exactly what I needed just a very chill and calming day off where I don't have to worry so much about things, taking strolls around Sydney was exactly what I needed to clear my mind.
It was really nice of Calum to do so, I didn't figure that this was all I needed to feel reassured and calm.
