67. Attack

"Skyla, how ya' doing?" Leila, the lady in the counter greeted me when I walked in the animal adoption centre. "Feeling sad again?" She chuckled and I shook my head no and smiled kindly at the middle aged woman.

"Leila, this is Luke" I introduced Luke to Leila. "Oh, I've heard so much about you, I'm Leila" She stuck her hand out and they both shook hands.

"I'm guessing you kids just want to check out the animals huh?" I smiled sadly at her and nodded. "It's alright darling, go ahead" Leila nod towards the aisle where they kept the animals respectively.

I suggested to go in to where they kept the dogs and puppies. I head over to the dogs section, there were dogs playing in a playpen some were sleeping in their kennels peacefully and some were eating.

I head over to a white terrier puppy and pet it. I sat crossed legs on the floor and placed my bag next to me, I sat in front of the kennel and placed the terrier puppy on my lap.

The place was quiet besides the calming sound of animals. There wasn't anyone in the place besides Luke and I.

I looked up at Luke and smiled once he decided to join me sitting on the floor. "I fell in love with this little guy when I first came here" I told Luke as I cuddled with the puppy.

"He likes you" The puppy started licking Luke's hand when Luke reached over to pet the puppy.

"He was my temporary boyfriend when you were gone" I giggled making Luke chuckle lightly.

"I also temporarily named him Dorris, until his future pet owner decides to take him in next week" I sighed looking at the hyper active puppy on my lap.

"Most of these puppies don't have homes, and I just want to take all of them, just incase I end up not marrying anyone, I could fulfill my dreams to be a middle aged woman with cats and dogs" Luke laughed out loud when I told him about my dream which made me giggle.

"I love you so much" Luke giggled and kissed my temple making me blush.

We spent at least 2 hours at the playpen just hanging out with the dogs and puppies before leaving the animal adoption center.

We both decided to walk around and enjoy the fresh air, we were walking hand in hand around Sydney and looked over the beautiful city. As always, it's not a proper walk with Skyla without having to stop by an ice cream shop and get some ice cream.

This time, I decided to buy for the both of us and Luke was hesitant to let me but I assured him that I want to and I ended up buying ice creams for the both of us.

We continued our walk until we were stopped by a group of girls following us from behind.

Luke and I eventually stopped walking to talk to the girls. Luke was busy taking pictures with some of the girls and some of them were trying to start conversation me, but I was too shy and awkward to say much.

"How's your day been Skyla?" A girl asked.

I smiled kindly at her appreciating her concern, "Good, how's your day?" the girl answered me nicely saying that she had a boring day until she found Luke and I.

"You look so beautiful" Another girl stepped out and said with a bright smile.

"Thank you" I smiled shyly at her, a girl came up to me asking for a picture and I kindly did so, taking her iPhone in my hand and took a picture for her.

"Skyla, did you hear? Some crazy fangirls are planning to attack you" the same girl that asked about my day said.

"Pardon?" She repeated her sentence and I immediately felt completely uncomfortable and a little scared.
