"I'm excited," Chef Nida commented as I brought my sauce to simmer.
"Eversince she's as little as her son she already loves cooking," mom added while watching me cook for them. Well I honestly felt a little pressured knowing she's a renowned chef locally and even internationally.
After a while I served my dish, but before serving it they both requested me to plate the food for them. Napailing nalang ako at sinunod sila. Nauna na sila sa table, they didn't want to spoil themselves.
I honestly can't remember how to plate well. It's not like the restaurants where I used to work were really high end. I just did what seems to go well with the dish. I cooked kaldereta by the way.
They were pretty amazed with sinple combinations. I felt a little bit tired after cooking pero hindi ko masabi kay Mommy. It's not even a heavy work but still. Preggy hormones I guess. Parehong pareho ng mga naranasan ko noon kay Aldie. However, this time I had Falco with my side.
Chef Nida gave me a sweet smile and a thumbs up.
"Actually I am here not to taste test your food ija. I've known already ever since your mom told me you cook that you had skills. Kung dimo naaalala, I am one of the judges of the CEIS cook off. Diba ikaw nanalo nung 8th grade ka," she said out of nowhere. I remember joining that contest and I really won.
"I-i can't remember na po sorry," I told her. I really can't remember who were the judges that time. Focus na focus kasi lagi ako sa ginagawa ko.
"Well I am here to give you a gift you can't refuse-"
"Good afternoon Tita, hello ma'am," di namin pare parehong napansin na pumasok na pala si Falco kasama si Aldie at buhat buhat nya ito. He's probably from the company.
"Hello ijo, anyways. I brought here your invitation and ticket to fly to Italy with me to study to one of the best culinary school in the world-"
"Italy?!" Takang tanong ni Falco. Even I got confused. Napalingon sila Mommy sakanya. Falco laughed it off.
"Uhm, hehe, Tita how about my son? If Raki will go to Italy?"
"We'll be probably be there for the next two years, don muna papasok ang apo ko," Mom said which shooked me and Falco.
"B-but Tita Raki can't leave," bigla bigla nitong sabi. Pipigilan ko sana s'ya but it was already two late.
"You can't take my son and kids... At least not for now that I can't be with them yet po and I'm still establishing my company," deretsahang saad nya.
"Kids?" Takang tanong ni Chef Nida nilingon nila ako ni Mommy hindi ako nakakibo.
"Ho-" natigilan si Dad sa pagpasok at si Ate nang makita nilang nagtitigan kaming apat.
