Lo'ak was missing.
I don't know how I didn't put 2 and 2 together I mean it was so obvious. Aonung and his friends left at the same time as Lo'ak yet only Lo'ak was gone. That was not a coincidence.
I knew Aonung was an asshole but to go as far as endangering Lo'ak is just crazy.
I will kill him when I get the chance.
Right now me and Neteyam are heading towards our hut with Aonung right behind us.
He had just confessed his actions, apparently he was worried about Loa's still not being back because of his prank. Ironic.
Neteyam is fuming, I don't think I've ever seen him this mad. Maybe once when some guy back in the forest had made fun of me.
We arrive at the hut and I see Jake sitting with Kiri.
Neteyam takes Aonung by the ear and pushes him harshly towards Jake.
"Go on! Tell him what you just told me"
Aonung is clearly ashamed of his actions but I think it's probably because Jake is really intimidating him right now. He seemed very proud an hour ago.
"Tell him or I will" Neteyams voice is cold. If I were Aonung I'd be shaking.
Aonung sighs before looking down. Is he really trying to play the victim?
"We took Lo'ak to the outer reef" his voice strangely quiet.
His unwillingness to admit the stupidity of his action annoys me.
"Finish the sentence Aonung." I snap. I'm at my limit.
"We left him there and he hasn't come back yet" he mumbles.
That's when Jake stands up. He's absolutely livid. I have never seen someone's eyes this wide.
"You did what?" His voice is calm but his expression says otherwise.
"We took Lo'ak to the outer reef and we left him there on his own. He hasn't come back"
"When did this happen" Jake turns to me.
"When Lo'ak went to apologise-"
"Why weren't you with him?"
It takes me a few seconds to realise what he means. "I wanted to but I couldn't find him. I swear I wouldn't have let him on his own if I had known-"
"Don't."
My mouth just hangs open as if I'm trying to say something but nothing comes out. I have so many things to say but I know that with so much anger in me I might start a fight. I know I should've gone and apologised with Lo'ak and I probably should've searched for him better but why is this suddenly my fault?
Every time Lo'ak does something stupid the blame goes either on me or Neteyam. This was Aonung's plan not mine. Why is no one blaming him?
I close my mouth but I don't look down. I shouldn't have to.
"Go tell the others. We need to look for him" He swats me away.
I nod.
As I leave I feel Neteyams stare on my back. I'm too pissed to turn around. Once we find Lo'ak I'm giving him a piece of my mind. This is the last time I'm taking the blame for him. I have better shit to do than wait for him to grow up and once I'm done with him it'll be Aonungs turn. He needs to grow up and realise his fathers status won't cover him forever. I'll make sure he understands that.
I walk fast while looking around to find Neytiri. I spot her playing with Tuk.
"Neytiri!" I call.
She turns around smiling at me. Her smile drops when she sees the look on my face.
"Rei"
"Lo'ak is missing. Aonung took him to the outer reef and left him. He isn't back yet"
Her eyes widen and her posture stiffens. She looks back at Tuk.
"Where is Jake."
"In the hut with Neteyam."
She puts a hand on my shoulder, "Take care of Tuk, I'm going to see Jake."
I nod and look at her walk away, my heart beating as the realisation hits in. This whole time I've been thinking "when Lo'ak comes back" but there might never be a when. From the information I've gathered, the outer reef is dangerous, filled with wild fish who could kill you in one bite. Lo'ak has never been to the sea before, he is a forest na'vi which means his chances of survival are practically nonexistent. I might not see Lo'ak again. And it would all be my fault.
Because I was too lazy to look for him.
"Rei?"I hear Tuk call out my name, making me come back to reality.
I feel her tugging on my arm.
"Are you okay? You look sad"
"I'm okay. Are you okay?"
Good one Rei.
Tuk gives me a puzzled look. "Yeah?"
"Good. Good." I take a deep breath ready to change the conversation.
"Where is Lo'ak? I heard you talking about him."
I don't want to scare her but I can't lie to her. She already knows something is up.
"He's just gone fishing. He'll soon be back. He just did something stupid."
"Again?"
I snort, "Yeah, again."
Theres a minute of silence between us.
"Can you play with me? I'm bored"
"Of course"
She gives me a big toothy smile as she takes my hand pulling me to the beach.
"I know a great place! You'll love it! "

I'm so sorry for not updating sooner but I had my first week of school after xmas holidays so I was super tired! I promise to update more this week, I'll try Wednesday.
