You broke us
You broke my trust
You broke my heart
You were always the reason we had to restart
Over and over again
Because I couldn't lose you not as a lover and not as a friend
You were everything to me
You were my present, future, and past
You promised me that you and I were made to last
You promised me things, but then you would never follow through
You just could not execute
And it is because of that I held on to you
But after the years that have gone by and the healing that I've done
I now know my worth and I know that love is not meant to be fun
It is serious and is not about who lost or won
We treated this relationship like a game
Both of us waiting to see who would concede, I guess we truly were the same
But I have grown and learned my lesson
You and I were not meant to be
And excepting that fact is what has finally set me free
