My mind is asleep until you come into view
Since it is because of you that my whole body awakens too
My dreams have been haunted but then I think of you
You encompass all the good I need to see past the darkness that looms
You put on the mask when it comes to those around
But it comes off when it's just us two, for our souls are bound
No judgment and no sound
The only thing you hear is how my heart skips a beat when you're near
How my breathing quickens when you're around because of my fear
The fear of losing you, the feeling of you losing control
But if I'm being honest I want you too
I want us both to lose ourselves when we both revel in the love that has proven to be true
Others can speak on who they think you are
But I know what lays beyond the darkness, which is stars
Your eyes reveal all to me as I stare into them wanting to see into the window of your soul
I only see goodness and light although the darkness you deny has taken its toll
I try with all of me to light the passage to salvation with everything that I have to give
Because without you, my soul has no other reason to live
