Chapter 15: Αδελφή ψυχή

Hey! sorry I haven't been uploading for awhile. I'll be trying to update more frequently now and since it's been awhile, here's a little thing to make you remember what happened last chapter to jog your memory.

RECAP:

After we finished off the rouge we continued patrolling the area. There was no signs of any Little Monster being here. I have a bad feeling about this...

I grabbed my phone and called 'Clear's' boss, Selene.

"Hello?" I asked hesitantly.

I've called her before when she wasn't in a good mood and...it didn't end well for me. I'd like to go through a phone call without being punished.

"Hi Mason," she said.

"A few days ago the green forest pack received a note from the Little monsters. It was a warning and a few of us have been patrolling the area everyday. I was just calling to ask if there were any Little Monster attacks in the past few days." I told her.

I was really hoping there wasn't any.

"Well, there has been an attack a few days ago. Somewhere 2 hours from there. I believe it's the Moonlight pack's territory. Some young girl was attacked by something and was rushed to the hospital," Selene informed me.

Moonlight pack...isn't that where Sophie was staying at? It couldn't have been her right? I mean she hasn't been attacked before...has she?

"Who was the girl that was attacked?" I asked quickly.

I was starting to get all jittery. It wasn't possible for my Αδελφή ψυχή to be hurt...could it? She's been protected so far.

I heard papers being flipped through as I waited for Selene to answer.

"Some girl named Sophie Verg..." she said a few seconds later.

Mason's POV

I dropped my phone the minute I heard my Αδελφή ψυχή's name come out of Selene's mouth.

"Hello??? Hey Mason are you there? Mason? Hey! Answer the damn phone!" Selene yelled through the phone.

I flinched at the tone of her voice. I knew that when I came back to head quarters, I'd be in trouble with Selene.

I picked up my phone in one swift motion and told her, "bye," and hung up.

I turned around to find the majority of my patrol group staring at me with curious eyes. No one was moving forward all they did was stare at me.

"Everyone we're heading back to the pack house now," I commanded as I started running towards the pack house.

A few minutes we arivved there and Jennifer was leaning on the door with a smirk on her face. Did something happen? Oh whatever I don't have the time for this. I rushed past her and barged into the alpha's office without knocking.

Nathan flinched when I came in suddenly.

"Nathan, I'm going to be somewhere for awhile," I told him.

He looked at me with narrowed eyes and warily asked, "where?"

"Somewhere involving a recent attack," I bluntly told him.

"The Little Monsters?" he asked.

I nodded and went out of his office and ran to my car, but Jennifer blocked the way.

"Where do you think you're going mister?" she asked with narrowed eyes.

What is with people and narrowing their eyes today? Am I really doing something that would be suspicious? I just want to see my Αδελφή ψυχή. Is it so bad that I want to see her? She's hurt. I need to see her.

"I'm going to see Sophie," I told her.

Her eyes quickly changed to concern after hearing her best friends name.

"What happened? Is she alright? Did that bastard Luke hurt her?!?"

"She's hurt. I don't know, that's why I'm going to see her and of what I know of, Luke hasn't done anything," I tell her.

"Yet," she mutters under her breath.

"What?"

"Nothing," she says all to quickly.

I nod and tell her to move. She shakes her head and says, "You're taking me with you."

Now it's my turn to shake my head. I am not going to take her there. I need alone time with her. Not with Jennifer added to it.

She growled.

I growled.

"She is my best friend! You are taking me with you or I am going without you!" she threatened as she lunged at me and grabbed my car keys quickly and ran into my car.

Dammit! Caught me off guard. Once the shock came through, I chased after her. No one and I mean no one will drive my baby. Knowing Jennifer, she'll probably scratch it a million times and crash it into a tree and drive it over a cliff.

"Fine I'll take you! Now give me my keys and don't you dare hurt my baby!" I shouted.

She snickered and opened the passenger window and threw my keys at me. I caught it and grumbled. Why can't my Αδελφή ψυχή have calmer friends?
