Chapter Twenty-Two

Jace's POV

Why is Izzy so annoying? I don't need to go to the silent brothers, I'm perfectly fine!

"Iz, I don't need to go to the silent brothers." I complain as I watch her sitting on the armchair sharpening her knife.

Her eyes flash with anger and she stands up.

"Listen here, there is something wrong with you and the silent brothers will help. I don't care what you think, but you willingly hurting Clary is messed up. She is like a sister to me and if you hurt her one more time you will have to deal with me." At this point, her knife is digging into my chest and I put my hands up in surrender.

"Okay, okay. I'll go see the silent brothers." I say, rolling my eyes and trying to seem like I wasn't scared.

Izzy plonks back down into the armchair. "Good."

We look at each other in silence for a few minutes.

"Iz, I don't know what's happening to me and I'm scared. I don't want to hurt Clary, but I'm afraid that the silent brothers won't be able to help." I rush out. I bite my lip and look at the floor.

I hear Izzy stand up and come over to me.

"Oh Jace." She murmurs, hugging me. "It will be alright, the silent brothers will be able to help."

I squeeze her tight, needing the comfort.

"Well, well, well, what is going on here? Having a party without me?" A voice drawls from the door.

Iz and I spring apart and stare at the newcomer.
