"In silent screams, in wildest dreams, I never dreamed of this"
I tilted my head watching Lucerys try and command Arrax. I tried to stifle my laugh as Valaena elbowed me. I grabbed my side, looking at her as she shook her head.
"Come on, it's funny" I whispered. "Also, that hurt."
"Not everyone is like you, and perfect at everything" she whispered. "Give him a chance."
Truth be told, I didn't know why I was here. All the other kids dragons were growing up still, along with us. I was the only one who had claimed a dragon that was nearly five times my age.
Stormbreaker had not had a rider since the death of my grandmother, Aemma. From tales from my grandfather, she rarely rode Stormbreaker but they had a special bond. When she had died, Stormbreaker cried out for all of Kings Landing to hear.
Aegon turned around, trying to hold in a laugh himself as he looked at Aemond then me. He oinked as Lucerys bursted out into laughter, mimicking a pig just as Aegon did. Saera rolled her eyes at their not very subtle gesture to their prank on Aemond from earlier. Aemond left the dragon pit angry as Saera ran after him.
"Dramatic" Aegon said.
"Could be a little nicer to him" I said.
"I could" he smiled.
I slipped out of the dragon pit with Aegon close behind.
"You know I can hear you, right?" I said.
I turned around as Aegon shrugged. Neither of us wanted to watch Lucerys command Arrax, it was quite literally a waste of both our time.
"The King is going to be upset we left" he said.
"Well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?" I said.
"Your father will be upset" he said.
I shrugged as he continued after me. Since we had gotten back from Winterfell, Aegon had been giving me the cold shoulder. Usually before we went to bed we talked for maybe a couple minutes but he'd been leaving our apartments the moment I got in.
I knew the reason why, he was awkward the whole time we were at Winterfell after hearing of Cregan and I kissing. He hadn't explicitly said it but I knew that was the reason why.
"So, are we going to talk about why you've been ignoring me?" I asked.
"I'm not ignoring you" he said.
I stopped walking to stare at him.
"Don't lie to me, Aegon" I said. "I'm not stupid. We share the same chambers and I've barely seen you."
"Why did you go to Winterfell in the first place?" He asked.
I looked at him, not wanting to tell him the real reason I was there the first time.
"The same reason we were there for Vaella" I said.
"A betrothal?" He said.
"The King wanted Cregan and I to meet.. to see if things could work" I said.
He looked away, shaking his head.
"Are you seriously mad because of that?" I said. "I am betrothed to you!"
He walked away without saying a word as I followed him.
"Aegon!" I yelled.
He ignored my yelling as I began to get angry. I formed a ball of fire in my hand, throwing it near him as he jumped, spinning around.
