"I never saw you coming and I'll never be the same"

I smiled while holding Jaehaerys, kissing his head over and over. He giggled as my heart exploded at the sight. I swayed back and forth with him as Baelon ran in. I kneeled down, moving his hair out of his face.

"Where is your father?" I asked.

"I don't know, mummy" he said.

"Go with your grandmother" I said.

He ran to the other room to Alicent. Saera walked into my chambers with paper in hand.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Word from the Vale" she said. "They have officially declared for Rhaenyra."

"That doesn't seem much of a surprise. If only they knew Rhaenyra was behind the murder of our father.. the first child of Aemma" I said.

I sighed, looking at Jaehaerys.

"Call upon Daeron, Aemond and Ser Criston to the small council chambers" I said.

"What about Aegon?" She asked.

"Just call the meeting, Saera" I said.

"Yes, Your Grace" she said.

She walked out of the chambers as I sighed. I walked to the other room, handing Jaehaerys to Alicent. I made my way to the small council chambers to find everyone already there. I sat down, looking at the other four people who I had decided to trust with my life.

"They are planning something.. though I'm not sure what exactly that is but I want us to be prepared" I said.

"To my count they only have four dragons" Aemond.

"We only have five, that's not that big of an advantage" I said.

"But we have Vhagar and Stormbreaker who are the largest dragons alive" Saera said.

"Yes but Rhaena is without a dragon, what is to stop her from claiming one?" I said.

"What about the unclaimed dragons?" Daeron asked.

"The Maximoff's are on their way as we speak.. any of them if they're willing could try and claim them" Saera said. "That gives us a much larger advantage. They know more magic than we do, they can do more damage. And if they are riding dragons, we will win this war."

"How many dragons are unaccounted for?" I asked. "I know Vermithor and Seasmoke have not been claimed since their riders deaths. Who else?"

"There is also Silverwing and Sheepstealer, Your Grace" Daeron said. "Not to mention your late sisters dragon Blacksmoke."

"They all reside on Dragonstone" I said.

I took a deep breath in, trying to focus.

"How are we supposed to claim dragons when they are on Dragonstone!" I yelled.

I slammed my fists against the table causing everyone to jump.

"I will not allow Rhaenyra to kill anymore of my family!" I yelled. "We will not be able to claim those dragons. The realm is scared of me, Saera and all the Maximoff's.. my mothers brother Pietro has succeeded Lord Erik following his death."

I looked at Saera who instantly looked away. She had since grown closer to our mothers side of the family after moving to Winterfell.

"Pietro is more powerful than any of us.. if we can get him on a drago-" Ser Erryk ran in with blood all over him as I stood up.

"Your son.." he said.

"What's happened?" I asked.

"Prince Baelon has been killed" he said.

My ears began buzzing as I bunched my fists up. I thought I was hearing the words wrong, that maybe he had misspoken.

"Two men bounded the Lady Alicent and.." he started.

"Where are they!" I snapped.

"One has been stopped from fleeing the gates" he said.

"Bring him to me now!" I yelled.

I practically ran down the halls to my apartments to see Alicent crying while holding Viserys and Jaehaerys. I saw blood on the floor, not wanting to look any longer. I kneeled down as a crying Viserys ran to me. I held his head, holding back tears. I kissed his head repeatedly as Aegon ran in.

"Oh, god" he said.

I looked to Alicent who had blood over her like Ser Erryk. I turned around, still holding Viserys as Ser Erryk walked in with Ser Rickard and a dirty looking man. I let go of Viserys, pushing him to Alicent.

"Take the boys out of here" I said.

She picked up Jaehaerys before grabbing Viserys hand and running out of the room. I stared at the man who showed no sign of remorse.

"What is your name!" I said.

"Blood" he smiled.

I looked at a sack in his hand.

"You killed my son!" I yelled. "Why!"

His smile didn't disappear as I motioned for Ser Erryk and Ser Rickard to put him to his knees.

"For a reward" he said.

"Reward from who?" I asked. "Where were you to go!"

I smacked him, wiping the smile off his face.

"Harrenhall" he said.

I looked at Aegon, tears clouding my eyesight. I rubbed my eyes, seeing his smile was back. He let go of the sack, Baelon's head rolling out of it.

"They wanted proof" he said.

I opened my hand up, fire erupting from it. He began screaming as his body burned.

"Get my sons head out of my sight!" I yelled.

I grabbed my head, falling to the ground. I began crying out as Aegon held me. I could feel something switching inside me, like I was unlocking something hidden inside me.
