¤ 3rd Point Of View ¤
Numb. That was the only word that could describe how (Y/n) felt right now, sitting outside the jujutsu tech mortuary. Her eyes were red and bloodshot, her clothes still the same tattered uniform from earlier today. Her hands were still fractured from Sukuna, so badly that they were painted blue and black with bruises. Ieiri had bandaged them up a few hours ago in silence, while (Y/n) hyperventilated and cried untill she felt dizzy.
Now she was frozen on the ground of the hallways, her arms around her knees and her eyes trained on the floor. She wasn't sure if she hadn't been blinking or if her eyes ached because of the crying because moment she was bandaged up, she sat outside the mortuary door and sat there for hours. She wasn't even sure what time of day it was anymore.
She could go inside the room if she wanted to. But she couldn't. If she did then she'd be admitting the truth- that Yuuji was dead. She'd known Yuuji for four years and up untill his death, she didn't realise how dependent she was on him being there beside her- her little ray of sunshine. He was always so optimistic. It was hard to get sad when he was with her. Now the girl didn't know what to do with herself anymore, Yuuji's name repeating like a mantra in her head over and over again as she practically burned holes on the floor with her gaze.
(Y/n) blamed herself. It was all her fault. She couldn't even call herself a special grade sorcerer anymore, not when she couldn't do any of the techniques that made her a special grade infront of anybody else. What was the point in that? She may as well be a grade 2 sorcerer. She had so many chances today- too many chances to detain Sukuna. Yet she never did.
(Y/n) trusted him. How could she trust a curse that told her not to trust him. How stupid was that? And it wasn't untill it was too late that she tried to detain Sukuna, right when he saw it coming. Now what was she left with? Two broken hands, no jujutsu, an injured knee and a dead boyfriend. Countless times she could have done something, she could have saved him. But it was like Sukuna had this enchanting aura over him and it seemed as if it was specifically meant for (Y/n).
"(Y/n)." A voice called out, snapping (Y/n) from her daze. The girl blinked for the first time in what felt like hours as she looked up, seeing Ieiri walking towards her. She probbaly came to take apart Yuuji's body. Just the thought of that made (Y/n) feel sick to her stomach. Gojo and Kiyotaka were already in there, she couldn't imagine being in there too.
The girl stared up at Ieiri numbly, unable to bring out her usual respectful bows as she stared. Her usual red eyes seemed almost like a muted burgundy right now, lacking life.
"He was your boyfriend, right? The one that was brought in today?" Ieiri asked, motioning towards the closed doors of the mortuary. With silence, (Y/n) nodded- unable to speak up at all."Come inside with me. You can say your goodbyes." Ieiri asked the girl gently, grabbing onto her arm carefully to pull the girl up to her feet. (Y/n) had no say in the matter, too exhausted to fight back. In a matter of seconds she was on her feet and Ieiri had her hand on the handle of the door, ready to open it. But (Y/n) wasn't. She didn't want to say her goodbyes.
"And maybe later I can put a cast on those hands?" Ieiri suggested as she turned the handle of the door. The teacher opened the door confidently, not noticing how (Y/n) had sucked in her breath the moment she saw his body. She could tell it was him, even with the white sheet draped over him. She could tell. She hadn't even walked through the door yet and she already wanted to turn back. She was internally panicking.
Ieiri saw the girl's hesitation and pulled her in by the fabric of her shirt, closing the door behind her. (Y/n) was left standing numbly beside Kiyotaka and Gojo. They both gave her looks of pity and sadness, understanding that she must be in alot of pain right now- both mentally and physically. (Y/n) couldn't keep her eyes off the white sheet that covered her boyfriend's body, her lips trembling while Ieiri and Gojo talked.
