"You passed! I knew you would!" (Y/n) exclaimed happily, brightly smiling at Yuuji as she walked him to his new dorm room. Her arm was wrapped though his as she guided him through the halls that were unfamiliar to him, occasionlly motioning over with her hand towards something he should see and take mental note of.
"Hehe. That principal's a bit of a hardass though." Yuuji chuckled sheepishly, usinh his free arms to scratch behind his neck.
(Y/n) chuckled at his honestly, completely agreeing with him.
"Yeah. He's always like that, I'm afraid. You'll get used to it." She chuckled, Yuuji sighing in dread at ber words before his face lit up in realisation. Yuuji then looked back to his girlfriend with curious eyes, realising that he must not be the only one who had gone through this interview.
"Say, (Y/n)? Did you have to do the interview too?" He asked the girl, looking down at her expectantly as she nodded casually. (Y/n)'s been studying jujutsu for years from what she told him last night. He wondered if she had to do the interview when she was first introduced to the school or when she was finally admitted into the group of the 1st years.
"Yeah, I did." She confirmed with a chuckle, always having found amusement in Yuuji's curious eyes.
"Really? What was your reply when he asked you why you were here?" Yuuji asked, his facing showing full interest. The two even slowed down on their walk, Yuuji far too invested to take quick and calculated steps forwards.
"Well, I was only 10 at the time so my answer wasn't anywhere near as detailed as yours." She mused, flashing Yuuji a smirk as he panicked.
"Oh, no! Did he set those dolls on you too? But you were only 10!" Yuuji exclaimed in shock, in disbelief then even Yaga Masamichi would so somthing so horrific as to beat up a young child that didn't know any better. (Y/n) laughed at his panic, knowing the boy had always been quick to jump to conclusions during a story.
"No, no. He accepted my answer straight away." The girl mused, watching Yuuji's eyes go wide as balloons.
"Really?" He exclaimed in suprise, the girl humming proudly in reply.
"Well, what did you say?" The pinkette asked his girlfriend, now not walking at all, too invested to focus on anything other than needing to know the answer.
"I said...'I want to make a world where we don't have to watch those we love die.'" The girl mumbled out, still remembering her answer word for word because even now the answer is the same. She didn't want to be a jujutsu sorcerer, especially after finding out that that was what Nanami was. He explained most of it to her that day, the day he exorsised all of her friends...her family.
Nanami said that's what jujutsu sorcerers do. They kill curses and save human lives. He said to her that that was what he was doing. He saved her life. He saved her from those curses. But no... no, he did not. Later on that year, after Nanami had adopted her and expressed interest into making her a jujutsu sorcerer, she realised she'd become the same thing she never wanted to become. A murderer.
But it wasn't her choice, it was her adopted father's. And she loved Nanami, she really did. But she did not agree with his ways. And if she were really to become a jujutsu sorcerer, she'd do it her way. She'd make an actual difference in the world. She'd show them that curses aren't the real enemy.
"Waoh, that's dark...Was it about your parents?" Yuuji guessed, knowing that her parents were dead. He didn't know how exactly they had died. But judging by (Y/n)'s phobia of fire, he had a good guess. (Y/n)'s face morphed into one of confusion, wondering what her parents had to do with this.
"My pare- Oh, yeah! Yeah, it was about my parents." (Y/n) told him witha confirming nod, lying not so very subtly as she realised mid-confusion that his guess was a good cover for the real meaning.
