¤ Flashback ~ 5 Years Ago ¤

"Geto! Geto!" (Y/n) yelled loudly, waking up every sleeping soul in the hospital as she tried to fight her way through nurses.
"I'm sorry, Kid. You can't see him yet! He's in the middle of surgery!" A frustrated woman told her, losing her patience as they girl continued to fight against her grip. (Y/n) could barely hear what the nurse was saying, tears running down her cheeks, eyes locked on the emergency room doors that seemed so far despite being so close.

"No! I need to see him!" (Y/n) cried out, clawing the lady as she tried to break through her hold. As she got roughly pushed back, someone walled through the emergency room doors, allowing (Y/n) to see a glimpse of black hair that made her freeze in place. Geto.
"Riyu, I'll handle her." Another nurse said, sounding much calmer than the lady that was currently holring (Y/n) back. Riyu, apparently her name was.

Riyu let go of (Y/n) standing back with a sigh as her superior stood infront her, taking her place. Her name was Chiyo, the head nurse at Tokyo central hospital. Chiyo was a fairly old lady, seeming in her late fifties. She had wrinkles around her eyes and a kind smile on her face.
"Hello, child. Are you okay?" Chiyo asked, staying calm and collected even as (Y/n)'s features contorted into one of anger.

"Don't call me that! I'm not a child, I'm thirteen!" (Y/n) hissed angrily, making Chiyo awe at that fact, seeming impressed.
"Wow! Thirteen? You're practically an adult then." Chiyo chuckled, making (Y/n) glare and the condescension.
"Stop talking to me like that! I want to see Geto!" She yelled, trying to push past the old lady only for the other nurse to hold her back again. (Y/n) growled angrily, glaring back at the younger nurse who had her in what felt like a nicer version of a headlock.

"He's getting a blood transplant right now. Do you know what that is?" Chiyo asked the young girl, making her hesitate and thus stop struggling. A blood transplant? If it involved blood, surely that meant it wasn't good- especially since (Y/n) had taken almost all of Geto's blood. If she knew he to give it back, she would- really. Chiyo sighed at the girl's silence, signalling for Riyu to let go of her.

"A blood transplant is when a person has lost so much blood that they need someone else to donate some for them. If you hadn't brought Geto-San in time, it would have been too late for him to get one." The nurse explained to the girl, making her eyes burn.
"Is he going to live?" (Y/n) painfully croaked out. She didn't know how she'd be able to live after killing the one person who accepted her friendship with curses.

"Yes, he should do- thanks to you." The nurse smiled, patting the girl's head.
"Are you his sister?" She then asked curiously, making (Y/n) freeze. If she said no, the nurses wouldn't let her see him. So she had to lie, it was the only way she'd ever apologise to him. (Y/n) couldn't form the lie in her mouth, so she instead chose to nod hesitantly. The nurse smiled sadly and rubbed the girl's shoulder comfortingly.

"Well, you should be proud of yourself for saving your big brother's life. I know he would be too." The head nurse smiled, making (Y/n) frown because she wasn't proud of herself. She wasn't proud in the slightest because it was her power that put him in the hospital in the first place. She was so drunk on power, it was a miracle she snapped out of it for that single second to realise that Geto was bleeding out on the floor. This training session was the first to ecer go so badly- all because of this new technique that Geto read about in her family's archives called the ruler of curses.

She had never seen Geto so excited to try it out this technique. (Y/n) bet he regretted reading about it now. He could have never imagined this was were it would lead him to. A hospital bed, on the brink of death, probably with a few scars to prove this day happened.
"Can I see him soon?" (Y/n) then asked, a lot calmer now that she knew what was happening to Geto in there- knowing she hadn't killed him.

"In around an hour or two. He might even be awake by then." The nurse told her gently, making the girl gulp with a frightened nod. It was already late and Nanami would probably be wondering where she is by now. Buy she couldn't leave untill she apologised to Geto, she could take whatever punishment Nanami gave her. She probably deserved it anyway.

"Can you sit here and wait for that long?" The lady then asked, motioning ober to the chairs outside the emergency room, hoping that she wouldn't have to come out here and calm (Y/n) down again. (Y/n) nodded sadly, trudging over to the chairs and sitting on them quietly.
"Alright, good. Do you want me to bring something for you to eat while you wait?" Chiyo asked kindly, making (Y/n) shake her head. She didn't think she could stomach food right now.

And so (Y/n) waited for an hour and a half on those chairs, anxiously biting the inside of her cheeks, her eyes flickering to the clock abover her after every few minutes. She hadn't heard back from any of the nurses since they left her here and she was started to get more and nore worried. The silence was scaring her and the lack of movement too. Her fists clenched tightly, her nails digging painfully into her palm to distract her. It wasn't untill the nurse came back that she unclenched them.

"Alright. You can see him now. He's awak-" The nurse barely got through her sentence before (Y/n) ran past her, pushing her slightly on her rushed way in. The girl immediately spotted Geto the moment she burst through the doors, sat up on his hospital bed drinking what looked like orange juice. He looked pale and tired, his black hairs sticking ti his forehead as he drank his juice.
"Geto! Geto!" The girl yelled loudly with shock, running up to him at full speed.

Geto grunted as the girl slammed against him, hugging him as tightly as she could. The man gently wrapped his arms around the child with a sigh, allowing her to cry into his neck from the collected fear and anxiety.
"I'm sorry, Suguru! I'm really sorry!" She cried into his neck, clinging onto him as if her life depended on it. Suguru chuckled weakly, rubbing the girls lower back.

Geto didn't at all blame (Y/n) for what happened today. He actually deemed himself lucky to have witnessed the famous jujustu of the (L/n) clan. It was a rare phenomena indeeed.
"Don't be, Red. That was truly incredible. You are incredible." He told her truthfully, making her shake her head fiercely.
"I-I thought I killed you, Suguru. I was so scared! I didn't know what to do! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" The girl cried out, clenching his hospital gown between her fingers tightly.

"Red, don't cry for me. I'm supposed to be the villain, remember? I'm a curse user now." Suguru gently reminded, (Y/n) still shaking her head in denial.
"No. You have friends that are curses. You can't be a villain- or I'd be one too!" The girl exclaimed. Geto sighed, deciding not to fight her anymore on the subject. Instead he just held her close to him in silence.

Geto remembers being in her place a few years ago, feeling so different and yet wanting to belong. He wanted to stay with his best friend so bad and yet also wanted to share his beliefs with the world. He couldn't have both. And when she's older, she'll realise it too. For now, he'll let her be ignorant- only because he saw so much of himself in her.
"I'm never doing that jujutsu again!" She then told him in tears.
"Never!" (Y/n) repeated, making Geto frown. As much as he wanted to continue to help her try to control it, he would never force her. Geto nodded, petting her hair gently as he mumbled,

"Okay. I won't make you."
