Y/N and Jinx walked towards the K/DA house after the gate opened. Jinx let out a low whistle in approval. "Damn. Almost makes me wanna switch roommates," she said after giving the exterior a once-over.

"What, and leave me all alone? Hurtful," Y/N jested, a hand to his chest

"What, and leave me all alone? Hurtful," Y/N jested, a hand to his chest.

"I said almost," Jinx laughed, then winked at him. They both knew it was a joke. No way she'd give up living with her best friend.

Unless this place had unlimited access to food and dudes. Or chicks.

"I think they'll like today's shirt." Jinx meant the one Y/N wore: a black t-shirt with a certain group's logo on the chest.

"Guess it's like a shoutout/ thank you to them: for this chance. For the support last night," he said to her.

"Or 'cause you're truly fangirling for them," Jinx teased. Just before she knocked, the door was yanked open and Evelynn marched outside.

"My dating life isn't your concern!" she yelled into the house. Then the diva saw who was on the front stoop. "Oh. Hello, darlings. Don't mind me. Just heading out to a lunch date."

"Uh, all right," Y/N said, then stepped to the side as she walked past. "Enjoy your time."

"If he's trash, can I kick his ass?" Jinx asked.

Evelynn chuckled and stepped into her sports car: a purple McLaren P1. "When I return, I'll let you know." The diva did consider it, like a test for their new head of security. The car roared to life and squealed out of the gates.

Huh. Wonder what that was about, Y/N thought.

"Pfft. Women, amirite?" Jinx said.

"I'll say," Akali said. She stood in the doorway, barefoot, in a white sleeveless shirt and black track pants.

"But you're both- Never mind; not gonna finish that," Y/N said. "Good to see you, Kali."

"Likewise," she said, wrapping him in a hug. He was used to it by now. She gave one to Jinx, too.

"Hey, Y/N and Jinx!" Ahri called from inside. The friends walked in and were in awe at the expansive interior. "Where's Seraphine?"

"Sera said she'd be by later. Had work today, said to go on ahead," Jinx stated, unlacing her  black combat boots. "Here we are, and curious about what's got Miss Diva peeved."

"Oh. That. Well, Kai'sa may have made a comment about her love life."

"Look," Kai'sa said from the kitchen, "she may be a 'diva,' but is that an excuse to sleep around with so many people?"

"She doesn't 'sleep around,' Bokkie! You know the last time Evelynn was with someone like that was over a year ago," Ahri defended.

"It still doesn't feel right! How many has she led on and dumped before the check even arrived?" Kai'sa retorted, temporarily pausing her cooking.

"Sounds like Evelynn is just particular? And no one's matching up?" Y/N suggested.

They were stopped by the sound of Akali slurping. She chewed her ramen before saying, "Our diva has incredibly high standards. Good luck to anyone trying to meet them."

"Hear that, Y/N?" Jinx said, nudging him in the ribs. "You'll need all the luck you can get to get with Ms. Diva Extraordinaire."

He smacked her arm away with a blush. "C'mon, Jinx. Doubt I'm even her type," Y/N said. "Besides, dating's not a concern right now."

"Oh," Akali said, a tad bummed out. Still managed to hide it; both were oblivious. "So, wanna get back to the song?"

"Sure. Let's get to work," Y/N said, unslinging his bag. The remaining members led him and Jinx to their in-house studio. "How much is left?"

After a while, Ahri and Kai'sa finished their parts. Y/N was there to tweak parts in the backbeat. After she was done, Ahri pulled Jinx aside to talk with their manager about joining the security team.

"So, this roll here is a good hook to start," Y/N said as the track played back, "then right into that drip-drop beat for the intro to the first chorus. What do you think?"

Akali bobbed her head to the beat. "Okay, yeah, I get ya! That's perfect!" She playfully shoved his shoulder and said, "Man, I'm glad Yas suggested you. This is gonna be a great 'Get Motivated' song, I can feel it!"

He nodded in agreement and let the sound byte download. "Had a feeling that's what you were going for."

"You really know what to look for, huh?"

"If you're around enough bands, you get a feel for what they want." They were quiet for a few seconds before Y/N said, "I don't know if I said it, but, thanks for the pep talk yesterday, Kali. It....It showed me that, that others see me for more than what I see."

"Hmph. Knew it," Akali agreed. "Just needed that extra nudge."

Y/N chuckled and spun his chair to face her. "If not for Yasuo, Sera, hell, anyone who gave me a chance, I wouldn't be here." Then, a random thought nagged in his head. "If you don't mind me askin', what's the deal with Evelynn?"

"You mean her 'sleeping around,' as Kai'sa put it?" He nodded in reply. "Well, Eve's a girl with needs, like the rest of us. Hers just happens to be another's touch."

"I see."

"But it's like you said: she's very particular. No one's she's recently been out with has fit the bill. Doubt this schmuck is getting lucky tonight," Akali sighed, leaning back in her chair.

Y/N looked back at the recording and adjusted some parts. "You can tell?" he asked her.

"Patterns, my dear Y/N," Akali answered in a faux posh accent. "And what about you? You said you weren't concerned 'bout dating."

He chuckled and shook his head. "Nah. Way I see it, I couldn't boost myself to play onstage. Plus....with Jayce, it just shot my confidence to hell. When I feel ready, who knows?"

Akali rolled over next to him and watched him work. "Don't wait too long. Like you say, who knows?" She leaned in a little more and said, "Stay too focused, you might miss out."

Y/N saw how close Akali was to him. There was an inkling of understanding to what she said, so he asked, "Are....are you suggesting, you and me? We-"

"I-I mean, t-that is, if you wanna, ya know, give it a shot? Y-You're a cool guy, and....I wouldn't say no if you asked," Akali managed to sputter out.

C'mooonnnnn. Take it. This might be good for you. Get back out there.

Y/N still couldn't believe he said this: "W-Well, why don't we maybe follow Evelynn: you and me, dinner tomorrow night?" he suggested.

"Y-Yes! I mean, sure, that'd be great," Akali accepted. Yes! It's happening! Take that, girls!

Good! Just take that and be happy.

Yeah....Yeah.

"G-Great." Y/N quickly saved the finished project and said, "So guess we'll go and celebrate?"

Akali gave the tightest hug ever and backed up to look him in the eye. "I'd like that."

"I'll send this to Yasuo first. He'll take it from there. Any way you wanna celebrate?"

"Leave that, to me," Akali said, popping her knuckles.
