Where is Grandpa?

Where is Grandpa?
Grandpa is in Heaven.

Why is he in Heaven?
Grandpa was ready to go to Heaven.

Why was he ready?
Grandpa has been sick for a long time.

Does that mean he needed a vacation?
Yes, in a way, that's why he went to Heaven.

Why didn't he say goodbye to us before he left?
Grandpa didn't know he would be going to Heaven. But he did tell us he loved us when we saw him last.

Yes, he did. Where is Heaven?
Heaven is up there, in the sky.

When is he coming back?
He can't come back.

Why can't he come back?
When you go to Heaven you have to stay there.

That's a weird vacation. Can we go visit him?
No, Heaven is not a place we can visit.

Why can't we visit Heaven?
Because people don't go to Heaven unless they are going to stay.

Are we going to move there with him?
No, Grandpa has to go alone.

Alone? What if he gets lonely without us?
There are lots of people in Heaven. They will keep him company.

But what if he doesn't like it there and wants to leave?
He will like it there.

How do you know?
Heaven is very nice.

Why?
There are no bad things in Heaven. No one gets sick or hurt and no one gets tired.

So if you fall off your bike you don't get scraped knees?
No, there are no scraped knees in Heaven.

And no bedtimes?
No, there are no bedtimes.

Does that mean they don't have bandaids in Heaven, or beds?
They don't need them there.

Do they have chairs?
They might have chairs. Why do you ask?

Because Grandpa forgot to take his big stuffed chair with him when he moved to Heaven.
