How graceful you are;
how energetic.
How brief your stay
but how welcome.
What gladness and joy
your surprise visit brings.
While you were not wholly unexpected,
since we planted those flowers
hoping you would come,
we could not be sure that you would
or when you would, but
how delightful that you did.
If there were a flower
we could plant
that could convince you to stay
we would plant a thousand
to be sure.
Please don't think badly of us
for wishing you would tarry longer.
We are grateful for your visit
and look forward to your return.
