It's just a phase, you say
the gathering darkness
the light is gone
and I'm afraid
It's just for a while, you say
the night is so empty
the sky bereft
you left, you went away
It won't be long, you say
wondering, worrying, waiting
I count the days
hoping that you're okay
It's almost time, you say
yes, time has passed
we both have changed
that is the way
