Chapter XXXVIII: Gone

Third Person's P. O. V

~beep~ ~beep~ ~beep~

The sound of the two heart monitors filled the silent room at the hospital. Two beds were inside the VIP room, one for Jennie and one for Jisoo.

The two were both unconscious on their beds, their faces were full of bruises. Jennie's eyes were puffy, while at the corner of Jisoo's brow has a cut and was covered with a bandage.

Jisoo's finger moves slightly, as her eyes slowly opens, trying to adjust her eyesight from the light. At that moment, the door opened and revealed two persons, Kai and Taehyung.

The two of them also have bruises on their faces. Taehyung saw Jisoo and immediately ran to her side.

"Chu! How are you feeling?" he asks worriedly. Jisoo stares at him for a moment before realization hits her. Her eyes widened at abruptly sit up, only to fall back again on the bed while groaning.

"Stop moving, chu. You just woke up, and your body still not functioning well" Kai said. Jisoo frowns as she tries to maintain her tears at bay.

"How long was I asleep?" she asks.

"Three days" Taeh replies.

"Three days?!" she exclaims in surprise. She turns her head to the side and saw that Jennie was still unconscious. She slowly got up from her bed again while Taeh helped her sit up.

"How is she?" she asked, looking at Jennie.

Kai sighs, "She hasn't woken up yet." as she looks at Jennie.

"How about—how about..." Jisoo hesitates to ask. The two understand what she was trying to ask that caused them to look down with a solemn look.

Jisoo understands what this means, a tear fell from her eyes. Kai and Taehyung were surprised to see her crying. Jisoo was always the toughest among them and seeing the latter crying silenced them.

"W–where's Chaeng?" Jisoo stutters.

Taeh looked at Kai before speaking, "She's with Liam's grandparents right now, they're still looking for him."

Jisoo nods her head as she sniffs. "They won't take it that easily." she said, pertaining to Jennie and Chaeng.

"We know." Kai said. "You should take a rest for now, chu. We'll tell the others you're awake." he adds. Jisoo nods weakly.

Taeh helps her lay down. Kai left the room to inform that Jisoo's awake while Taeh stayed just in case Jisoo needs something or Jennie wakes up.

Chaeng sat on the couch as she rubs her face, her tired eyes stared at nothing. Her mind has been a mess for the past three days.

Liam's grandparents were also the same as her but worse, especially Seungjae, the kid barely eats.

~ring~ ~ring~

She glanced at her phone and immediately picks it up as soon she saw the caller ID.

"H–hello?" she answers.

"How are you?" Kai asks softly. Chaeng smiled a little.

"I'm fine, I guess." she said.

"I hope my news will make you feel better at least." Chaeng's ears perked up.

"Why? What is it?"

"Jisoo's awake." Chaeng ended the call as she dashed out of the Manoban's house and to her car.
