Chapter XXIII: Ice Skate

Third Person's P. O. V

"LIAM MANOBAN!" Liam chokes on his juice and coughs loudly when his name was yelled out followed by a loud slam.

He looks at his back, seeing his grandpa strutting towards him with an unreadable expression.

"W–what is it grandpa?" Liam stutters when his grandpa reached him.

"Is it true that you're now courting Jennie for a month?!" he exclaims. Liam was surprised.

Aish! I'll kill that olaf!

"Honey! Don't scare him!" Liam's grandma appears and scolds his husband, slapping his arm lightly.

"What? I was just asking!" his grandpa said in defense and rubs his arm.

"I–yeah, I'm courting her again" Liam said in a low tone.

"Why didn't you told us?" his grandpa asks.

"I...I didn't know if you'll approve of it" Liam said, still looking down.

"Ouch!" his grandpa winced after receiving a punch from his wife.

"I said stop scaring him!" his grandma yells at his husband.

"I wasn't!"

"Why do you think of that? You know that we'll always support your decision as long as your happy" his grandma said softly.

"Yeah. And we can see that only Jennie can make you happy like that" his grandpa adds gently.

"So you guys are okay with it?" Liam asked hopefully.

"Hmm, of course! The last time I see you this happy was when you and Jennie were still together. But after that incident, you changed. Yes, you do laugh and smile but we know that you're only trying to hide that pain inside you" his grandpa adds, sitting down beside his wife.

"H–how?" Liam asks, surprised.

"When you have an overnight here, we can hear you crying inside your room. We're worried when you decided to stay in your condo, cause we know what you're doing before you go to sleep" his grandpa said with a sad smile.

"We're not mad that you decide to court Jennie again, just wanna let you know that we'll always be by your side!" he adds.

"Your grandpa's right" his grandma smiles.

"Thank you so much, you guys!" Liam smiles sincerely as he hugs them both.

"And besides! I love that girl! She was such a good girl and I can see that she loves you so much!" his grandpa said happily. Liam chuckles and nods his head.

"She's still a good girl though"

"Now go call her" Liam was dumbfounded at what his grandma said.

"What?"

"Tell her we want to meet her!" his grandma adds.

"B–but I—"

"No buts. Call her and tell her we want to meet her" his grandma demands. Liam and his grandpa watched the woman walks away until the old man scoffed in disbelief.

"She told me not to scare you, but look who's acting" he muttered mockingly. Liam laughs followed by his grandpa.

"I heard that!" they both flinched when they heard the woman yelled.

"I was just kidding honey!" his grandpa said, following his wife inside, not before sending Liam a knowing look.

Liam sighs and picked up his phone from the table. He looks for a certain brunette in his contact lists, clearing his throat before pressing the call button.
