Chapter XVII: Jake

Third Person's P. O. V

It's already evening, all of the student are going home, the others are waiting for their driver to pick them up. But a girl named Park Chaeyoung is still standing in the school's main gate, talking to her driver.

"I'm sorry ma'am, the car got a flat tire but I think it will be soon fixed" her driver said. Chaeng sighed and nodded even though her driver can't see her.

"It's okay, Mr. Choi. I can wait" she assured.

"I'm really sorry, ma'am. I'll be quick" Mr. Choi apologized. Chaeng smiled and hummed before hanging up. She sighed and sat on the bench with crossed arms.

Chaeng looks behind her when she heard a rustle from the bush.

"Who's there?" she called. She can feel her heart wants to get out of her chest through her mouth. Oh God!

What's this? A horror movie?

"I said who's there?!" she said a bit loud this time. She took step back when a guy in a black mask came out.

"Wh–who are you?" Chaeng's voice shakes. He's a bit tall but Chaeng's more taller, he's more like a teenager to her.

"Rosé noona" Chaeng stopped on her tracks when the guy spoke.

Wait, that voice sounds familiar!

"Jake?!" she exclaimed when the guy removes his mask. He chuckles softly and smiles.

"Oh My God! Jake, how are you?" Chaeng exclaimed, walking towards him and engulf him in a hug. Jake is her youngest cousin on her mother's side, they flew to Australia where Jake continued his studies there.

"I'm fine, noona. What about you?" he asked as he also hug her back.

"I'm good, what are you doing here by the way? You're supposed to be in Australia, studying" Chaeng said, curious and confused.

"I'm staying here for good" he shrugs like it's nothing.

"Jinjja?!" Chaeng squealed and cups his cheeks. He nods with a grin. Since Chaeng is the youngest in their family, Jake is like a little brother to her already.

"Oh my! I can't wait to see Jimin's reaction when he sees you!"

"I can't wait to see him too" Jake grins.

"Where's your parents? Are you alone?" Chaeng asked.

"Mom and dad are in our house. I just came here to surprise you" Jake said and chuckles.

"Well you surprised me alright. I thought it was some random guys trying to abduct me" Chaeng jokes but half of it was true. Jake laughs while shaking his head.

"Let's go home, noona. Mr. Jung is here to pick you up" Jake said.

"Okay, I'll just text my driver" Chaeng said as Jake led the way to the car. While Chaeng was texting her driver, Jake looks back at the bush with a blank face before getting inside the car.

Someone's P. O. V

"Boss, I failed" I said through he phone call.

"Stupid!" my boss yelled accompanied by a shattering glass. I felt my body shivered by his angry voice.

"How come you didn't get her?!" he yelled again that I have to pull my phone a bit far from my ear.

"A kid suddenly came—"

"So?! I don't care about the fucking kid!"

"But they're two of them boss, I'm only one"
