A marriage is like a rose; a romantic keepsake having the combination of thorns and petals. The red hue of the petals symbolizes love, and passion and is soft to touch. The thorns that lay on the stem, however, represent adversity and sacrifice.

I couldn't believe what I was reading.
My eyes refused to look away from the articles I had been reading ever since I got home.
"No," I shook my head in disbelief, "This can't be."
I had looked up everything about Amelia Brown on the internet and not a single page could prove Maxwell's word otherwise. He was spitting the truth all along, but why is it only now?
I held my throbbing head in my hands.
It all made sense to me now. Maxwell always made his suspicions about Zayden evident from the first day they met, but Ruby acted nonchalant and hid her views on the matter. Whenever I'd bring up Zayden, she had a faltering smile plastered on her face.
"Goodness. . ." I sighed.
The past doesn't matter.
All we have is the present.
. . . .isn't it?
Suddenly, the door was unlocked and I jumped from my seat. Turning off my phone as quickly as I could, I hurried my way to the door.
I pressed my lips tightly and lowered my gaze to the floor, pondering if it was a sane idea to raise the topic of my husband's controversial past. I'm in desperate need of answers, but a part of me wants to ignore everything and concentrate on us.
"Hey, sweetheart,"
My head shot up at his voice and I viewed him unbuttoning his blazer, exposing his complete three piece suite attire. His sleek hair shined under the warm lights of the doorway, his eyes twinkling with a homely glow.
He took slow step towards me, closing the distance between us. The air smelled different now that he was at home- musky and rosy.
His hand reached out for mine but I stepped back involuntarily.
"What's wrong?" He asked, leaning towards me.
"I. . .don't. . ." I paused when my back hit the wall behind me. I realized I was cornered and our bodies were at an intense proximity.
Feeling his breath fanning against my face, I averted my gaze anywhere except for his eyes. My toes curled and my throat felt like I hadn't drank water in days, my mind now turned into a complete void as I feel the touch of his skin against mine.
