"We've got a lead on an ex-HYDRA agent in Lagos," Steve said as he walked into the compound's kitchenette with Sam the next morning. Huddled around the table was Nat, Wanda, Vision, and a sickly-looking Signy and Pietro. "We believe it may be the Winter Soldier." His eyebrows drew together when he saw the two blondes. "What happened here?"

"Dancing in the rain?" Pietro smirked. Signy's hand covered the peal of laughter from her mouth only for it to dissolve into hysterical coughs. Pietro sneezed loudly, stopping him from laughing along with her.

Steve looked at them oddly, but moved on. "We'll take Wanda and Nat. You two stay behind, rest up. Vision, you're babysitting," he ordered.

"I always am," Vision quipped. Wanda rested her hand on his shoulder reassuringly before leaving with Nat for a full debrief. "You two should go lie down. I'll bring you soup around lunchtime."

"Thanks, Mom." Signy groaned only to be interrupted by a sneeze. "I hate getting benched."

"Well, I doubt we'd do well on a stealth mission today," Pietro said, his voice strained. "Plus, I've mastered the art of looking over my shoulder. Wanda... Eh, she needs some work."

Wanda happened to have strolled back into the kitchen at that moment. "Is that right? From what I remember, you spent our last mission staring at the back of Sig's head when you thought no one was looking."

Signy covered her mouth with her hand, hoping her friend's didn't catch her blush.

Pietro looked at his sister incredulously, forcing a laugh only to cough uncontrollably. "You're so funny, Sister. You kill me. Literally."

Wanda shook her head, grabbing an apple from a bowl on the table. "I will see you all soon, hopefully. Try not to die while I'm away."

"No promises," Signy croaked before retreating to her bedroom.

She turned off her overhead lights immediately after reaching the small bedroom, leaving only the string lights wrapped around her headboard to light the space. Signy crawled under her covers, shroading her face with her comforter. She peeked out at the record player sitting in the corner of the room and smiled. When Tony last visited, he brought it for her along with almost forty old, classic records. Tony was always finding ways to fuel Signy's obsession with Midgardian pop culture. This time, he insisted she listen to certain bands "the way they were meant to be heard."

Signy stumbled over to the record player, picking out an old Radiohead album and letting it play at a low volume. The door opened quietly, letting in a stream of light. When Signy turned back around, it was already too late and Pietro had collapsed on top of her covers.

"What are you doing in here? Don't you have your own room?" she said.

"Too loud. Head hurts," he complained. "Wanda will tell you, I can't be alone when I'm sick. I need company." Pietro smirked up at her and she could see right through the lie.
