"At a special United Nations conference, 117 countries come together to ratify the Sokovia Accords," the anchor announced.

Signy and Pietro were lounging on the couch, her legs in his lap and his arm around her as they waited for Vision and Wanda to come join them with popcorn. Vision had already signed, but stayed behind for the event to "babysit" as per usual.

"I don't know what I'll do," Signy said as she and Pietro discussed next steps now that this was really happening and the two had officially staked their decision on not signing. "Maybe I'll go back to Asgard. I haven't been home since Mother and Loki, but... Maybe Thor's there. If not, I'll wander around the palace. At least I won't be here, confined to using my powers when some big assholes tell me I can."

Pietro reached up to tangle his fingers in the bottom pieces of her hair. "Please don't leave. I can't be left to third wheel with Vis and my sister."

Signy scoffed and shook her head. "Maybe you two could come with me. Even Vis if he stops being such a dick. It would certainly make the palace feel more like home. I'm just dreaming, though, really. It's been a long time since I've called to Heimdall. I do miss Thor, though."

"Can't say I do," Pietro smirked. "Stark is right that he and I would both be dead by now if your brother was around." He smiled as her laugh bubbled through him. "And you're so well spoken with all of this- this politics talk. I can't imagine doing it without you."

Signy smiled sadly. "I grew up surrounded by adults talking politics. I guess I accidentally started making sense of it along the way."

Wanda and Vision settled onto the couch next to them with a big bowl of popcorn stuck between them as King T'Chaka of Wakanda stepped forward to speak on the screen. "When stolen Wakandan Vibranium was used to make a terrible weapon, we in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy. Those men and women killed in Nigeria were part of a good will mission from a country too long in the shadows. We will not, however, let misfortune drive us back. We will work to improve the world we wish to join. I am grateful to the Avengers for supporting this initiative. Wakanda is proud to extend its hand in peace-"

Another voice jumped out from the screen. "Everyone get down!"

Signy jumped as glass burst through the windows, the red and orange of fire mixing with the dark charcoal of smoke swirling around the screen before the feed went dead, quickly switching to a view from the outside. Signy pushed up from the couch, running to the landline in the kitchen. Though she had a personal phone, Tony always thought it safer to use the landline for any sensitive information, even the safety of her friends. In fact, the phone number for Tony in her phone was a personal one he rarely had on him when traveling and Natasha never kept a cell phone for longer than a month, so Signy had long ago given up on continually updating her contact. But then moments like this came along and all Signy wanted was a text assuring her that everyone was alright.
