Your POV
I was so lost in thought that I got hit by Tokoyami's first attack.
Dark Shadow rammed into me, knocking me backwards and off my feet. As my head hit the ground, I kicked myself internally.
Come on. You can worry about dear ol' dad later. Right now, focus on Tokoyami.
His Quirk was powerful, and effective at both offense and defense. I knew I would have to find and expose a weakness of his.
It had a physical body like humans did, so my attacks would hit it — but it was also almost invincible.
I did my best to sweep him out of the stadium with wind, but Dark Shadow kept just flying him back. What's his weakness? He's very strong...but wait...if he's a shadow...
My theory was proven correct when I covered myself in fire, sending up ripples of heat. Dark Shadow flinched. He was weak to light.
Of course! It's so obvious now.
I hurled streams of fire one after another, while dodging his attempts to grab me. With a wave of my hand, a circle of huge flames flared up, surrounding him. I manipulated the fire with wind, causing it to form a swirling mass of heat. Dark Shadow was no longer trying to come at me.
I condensed the fire, pressing it tighter and tighter against him.
I stepped through the fire, facing Tokoyami. Dark Shadow looked extremely worn out and small, and Tokoyami was starting to sweat from the heat.
"Do you surrender?" I asked calmly.
He tsked and looked away.
I upped the temperature by 100 degrees, using more energy. The fire got brighter.
He fell to his knees, starting to look dizzy and weak.
"Do you. Surrender." I repeated.
Hurry up. I need to go check on Mom.
"Fine. I surrender."
I called off the flames immediately, and doused the remaining sparks with water.
"Tokoyami surrenders! Y/N is the winner!" Midnight cried out to everyone's applause.
"I hope I didn't burn you too badly. You alright?" I asked.
"You did well. I'm impressed by your skills. Beat Bakugo, will you?"
I nodded at him.
He got up and walked away, and I went the other direction. Todoroki would be going against Iida next. But I had more important things to watch.
"Mom? You okay?"
She happened to be sitting in between Deku and Uraraka, and looked like she was intently looking at Deku's notebook.
I sighed in relief.
"Thank you guys so much. Sorry to trouble you."
"No problem!" Kirishima flashed me a smile.
"Yeah, our pleasure. And good job on the match! But are you going to tell us why your mother is here now?" Kaminari asked.
"Right. Well you see..."
After I had told them about the strange man at my house, and the situation with my father, they looked shocked.
"Y/N...you've been taking care of your mom all this time? And your dad — he's just now wanting to meet you?" Tsu questioned.
