Your POV

After classes were over for the day, I changed into shorts and a compression shirt, and flew over to Ground Omega. Mr. Aizawa was already there, looking as bored as ever, but gave me a simple nod as I touched down in the grass.

"Shinso should be with us in just a moment," he said.

I nodded, making sure my shoes were tied tightly. In the next moment, I heard footsteps behind me. Shinso had arrived, wearing a black tank top similar to the one Kacchan wears frequently. But what most caught my attention was the scarf around his neck that looked nearly identical to Mr. Aizawa's.

He met my eyes, his own narrowing. It seemed he almost looked suspicious.

I tried to ignore that and stepped up to him, smiling slightly.

"I'm Y/N L/N. I'm not sure if you remember me from the Sports Festival, but—"

"I remember you," he snapped.

I stood there for a moment, closing my mouth after he interrupted me. I still couldn't figure out why he seemed to dislike me so much.

Before the Sports Festival happened, and he had approached our class, he didn't seem nearly as pissy. What happened since then?

"Alright. Let's get started then," Mr. Aizawa said.

Shinso and I stepped forward, listening attentively.

"I already gave you both a quick debrief on why I was training you two together, but I will go more in detail with everything now.

L/N, I know you are familiar with Shinso's Quirk — Brainwashing. Over the past couple months, I've been helping him train both his Quirk and his physical abilities.

Shinso is hoping to transfer to the Hero Course next year, and I believe he has the potential to do so as well. Considering his abilities are similar to mine, I took it upon myself to help train him. This is why he has my same scarf; I've been teaching him to use it for capturing before or after he brainwashes his opponent.

He lacks quick judgment, and has a hard time anticipating his opponent's moves. This is where you come in, L/N. You are agile, and strong, and should be able to keep him on his toes."

I nodded, glancing at Shinso to see his reaction. He seemed indifferent, his half-lidded eyes focused solely on Mr. Aizawa.

"And as for you, Shinso. L/N here has a very unique power called Aether. It is extremely hard to control. If she tells you that things are getting out of hand, use your Quirk on her. If you feel things are getting out of hand, use your Quirk on her. In this way, you must also make fast decisions about when to use your Quirk, and when to use your capture scarf."

Mr. Aizawa then walked a short distance away, leaning against a tree.

"Well? What are you two waiting for?"

Shinso and I looked at each other before walking apart — keeping our eyes on each other the entire time. I saw Deku fight him at the Sports Festival, and he wasn't very physically adept at the time. However, he looked much stronger now, and I wasn't about to underestimate him.

"Ready?" I asked.

As soon as the word left my mouth, Shinso lunged at me, his fists out and ready.

"A villain never asks if you're ready," he sneered, taking a swing at me with his left fist.

I sidestepped his punch and grabbed ahold of his arm, flipping him over my shoulder and slamming him onto the ground.

"Well, I'm not a villain, am I?" I smiled slightly.
