Enid's POV

Wednesday almost died. I could have
died. We're safe. I hold the words on my tongue as I hug Wednesday tight. Never thought she would ever let me. Never thought I would wolf out. Never thought Tyler was the monster. There's a lot of crazy things that just happened right now but it doesn't matter because we're safe. New things are happening, and I like it. Well the hug, and all, not the whole monster thing and us almost dying.

"Enid."

My tears drip onto her jacket. I slowly pull back. Her eyes are fixed on mine and I think I see tears?

"You're crying."

"Apparently."

I smile, and hug her harder. This is when I notice the literal mob of people smiling around us.

"Uh... Wednesday? You know everyone is watching us, right?"

"...Yes." She sighs.

A few days later
Enid

"I'm gonna miss you." I say.

We're standing in our room, and most of our stuff is packed up. Wednesday hasn't noticed the pink and blue stuffed bunny I put in her backpack. I think I found an array of knifes in there? What would she need that for? Better not to know. Anyways. I can't believe we aren't going to see each other for so long.

I go in for a hug, and Wednesday accepts it, reluctantly.

"Don't expect that every time just because of earlier. And besides, don't worry about not hearing from me."

She pulls out a phone from her pocket using two fingers, looking at it in mock disgust. "I can't believe I sunk to your level."

"Omg Wednesday Addams has a phone! Where did you get it? Don't tell me you stole it..."

"Xavier. Can I- I can't believe myself," Wednesday sighs. "Enid..."

"Yeah?" I ask. Wednesday holds her phone to me.

"Can I have your number? That was disgusting. I'm going to vomit."

"Yesss!" I grab the phone excitedly and open messages. Someone has already texted her. Is it Xavier? No, his contact is below. The text shows an image of Wednesday. The contact is just numbers. Without thinking, I tap on it.

"Are you done yet?" Wednesday says, looking more pale than usual.

"Wednesday..." I say warily.

"What?" She says, leaning over.

"Who's this? Why do they have pictures of you?"

Wednesday grabs the phone and taps on it like a grandma. She has that look on her face like when she was telling me about her monster murder case thing.

"I don't know. I'll find them."

"Couldn't it be like, a friend? You don't have to assume it's some stalker."

"Who would have my number." She says coldly.

"I don't know!"

There's an awkward silence for a bit.

"I didn't actually put my number in yet."

Wednesday doesn't lift her head but glares at me. She hands me the phone.

I put my number in. "Here."

She grabs it and pockets it.

"Who would it be?" She begins to pace. "Or is it just some dark joke? That would be enjoyable."

"Wednesday."

She turns to me.

"I-I'm really going to miss you. And thing."

"Thing will miss you. And I might as well." She sighs.

I light up.

"You'll miss me?"

"No."

"Awwww!" I walk up to her and try to hug her. Bad idea. She steps away.

"Maybe I won't miss you."

"Hey! You know what, we've still got a day before break. Let's have a girl's night out!"

"Absolutely not."

"You promised we'd have one and I don't think snooping around the gates mansion and almost getting killed counts."

"I promised nothing."

"But roomie..."

"Fine! I swear don't give me those puppy dog eyes, you nasty little-"

I run up to Wednesday and wrap my arms around her.

"I give up." She says, defeated.

"Yesss!"
