"You insisted on coming along. I was fine on my own." Wednesday says to Enid as the walk through the woods together."Ew. What died?" Enid said attempting to ignore the girl's words.
"Smells like childhood." Wednesday says with a glint in her eye, "Come on." She says gesturing toward the entrance of the crypt.
When no steps were made, Wednesday looked back at the blonde girl "Second thoughts." She asks.
"Why don't I just stay out here? You know, as a lookout." Enid says nervously as she looks around.
At her words Wednesday quickly shrugs it off before continuing inside to investigate.
"I think I hear them coming!" Wendi says from her hiding spot on the cold cement ground as everyone quickly quiets down as they wait for the girl to enter.
As they hear the door open before footsteps began to walk around everyone was waiting in anticipation. Just as she walked in far enough the group jumped out yelling 'surprise' with flashlights then singing happy birthday with big smiles as they brought out a cake.
"I should've known you were behind this." Wednesday looks to Wendi and Enid. "What part of 'no part under the penalty of death' do you not understand?"
"I thought my cake design was pretty inspired." Wendi said looking down at the grim reaper standing on top the cake.
"The pink balloon was my little touch." Enid added.
"Why don't you make a wish?" Ajax speaks up, ready to eat.
Ignoring the boy, Wednesday notices writing on the wall as she flashes her phone light on it to see more clearly. "Wait, it's Latin." She begins before reading, "Fire will rain... when I rise."
"That's not really a wish." Wendi says.
"The first part was burned into Nevermore's lawn. It can't be a coincidence." She says looking at the group shortly before looking into the text more.
"We're never eating cake, are we?" Ajax asks now holding the cake looking upset as he goes to set it down.
Suddenly Wednesday drops to the floor, her eyes rolling to the back of her head as her body began to shake violently.
"Oh my god! Wednesday!" Wen shouts as she drops to aid her.
Xavier quickly sheds his jacket as a pillow while everyone helps try to protect her from injuring herself.
Later that night, Wen sat with Enid in her dorm as they prepared to give Wednesday their own small gifts while said girl spoke on how upset she was with the 'surprise'.
"Don't blame Thing. The party was my idea." Enid exclaimed, "Everyone deserves to be celebrated on their birthday."
"I prefer to be vilified." Wednesday replied.
"What happened? It looked like you were having a seizure." Wen asked the girl. After she came to, Wednesday acted like it hadn't happened before getting up and leaving.
"I wasn't that lucky." She answered vaguely.
"Can we at least get some kudos for pulling one over on you?" Enid asked.
"The subterfuge was impressive." Wednesday admitted to the girls delight.
Thing pounded gaining the threes attention, look to him they notice a letter. Wednesday grabs it, opening it.
May your 16th be as sour and misery-filled as your desire. - Your ever-doting mother and father.
"They asked Thing to hide it before they left on Parents' Weekend." Wendi says as she the girl reads the letter from her mother.
