Alex had been missing for 4 long months. The team had been trying their best to find her, but their results had been limited.

But that didn't mean that they hadn't made progress.

They had contacted the Guardians asking to keep an eye out for Alex just in case she did manage to end up on an alien planet.

They had searched through old HYDRA bases, old records from 2012, contacted Dr. Erik Selvig to go deeper into his research on the tesseract, and even visited the tesseract in a high security facility.

They had done everything they could.

But not Doctor Stephen Strange. He had his own theories, so for those months he trained.

But he did not train himself, he was training the one and only America Chavez. America had stumbled out of a portal and landed at Strange's feet, so naturally Strange formed an idea. If America could form portals to different realities and worlds, what could stop her from finding one specific world?

So with some encouragement (and free food) America had agreed to help find Alex. So for those months Strange helped America strengthen her powers, sure she was naturally skilled with her gift but she couldn't hold a portal open for long, or find a direct world.

But luckily America was a fast and eager student, she learnt quickly and retained all her knowledge.

So in no time Strange was ready to present his idea to the team.

"What if they don't like it?" America asked nervously as she walked through the tower, she was running her hand over the rough white walls as she moved alongside Strange.

"Then we do it ourselves, we're just asking to be nice" Strange said as he turned a corner.

America rolled her eyes with a smirk, "Since when are you nice?"

"Since I'm buying you pancakes after" Strange said as he stopped at a door.

"Really!? Oh I'm totally selling this idea" America smiled with new confidence.

"Good, let's show them what you got" He said as he opened the door and walked in.

"Doctor balloon animals, you called us here so I'm expecting something good," Tony said leaning back into his chair.

Strange sighed, "Why do I do anything for you,"

"Because I'm the best, now what do you have for us"

Strange cleared his throat before speaking, "This is America Chavez, she will be the key in getting Alex back"

That seemed to gather everyone's attention, "And how will she do that?" Tony pushed.

"America can create interdimensional portals and with the right components she can find Alex were ever she is"

"And what are those components?" Bucky chimed in.

"We need to find her coordinates, with that America can get us close enough to bring her back"

"And how do we find those coordinates?"

"That's the complicated part, Alex is not on earth so we have to find our version of Alex. If we take the wrong Alex the multiverse could be messed up so we will try to find our Alex"

"What do you mean Alex isn't on earth?" Bucky asked again.

"She just simply isn't, the magic that Magic Man used was from the tesseract, so when he used that magic he sent her through a portal to another world. We just have to find that exact world"

"And you need us for what again?" Bruce asked.

"You need to find a way to keep Alex here. The tesseract is sending her places so you need to re-engineer it to keep her here" Strange said.

There was a pause before Bruce spoke up again, "I think I can get that to work, I'll need Tony and Loki to help me but I think I have an idea" he nodded.

"Good, once you figure that out, America will get the portal set up. Are we all clear on that?"

There was an agreement throughout the room as Strange nodded, "Good, now I promised America pancakes so get to work and call me when you have it. America take it away"

She nodded as she faced the wall and slowly pulled up a blue star shaped portal. The portal led outside of a restaurant and without hesitation the two walked thoug.

The portal closed leaving the rest behind, "I honestly did not think he was being serious," Tony muttered.

"Well you heard him, let's get going"

God sounding smart in this chapter was hard, especially when I had to Google the months in order
