"Oh. Okay no this outfit." Mia looked at me as I walked down the slowly filling hallway, lined with lockers down one side. I smirked at her as I turned the dial and opened it, pushing my books for the day in with my bag.

"You like it?"

"I might just fall to my knees and start worshipping you." I threw my head back laughing loudly, causing people to turn and stare at me. "I like you this happy."

"Me too." I refilled my bag with the books for this half of school so I wasn't carrying too much. "I can't wait to see his reaction to this."

"Oh my god. He thought your outfits this week were bad. He's going to freak." I looked at her and smirked.

"Hey, it's high neck isn't it? That was his issue yesterday." I raised my eyebrows and pulled the bag onto my shoulder. "Plus I'm less covered for cheer anyways." I shrugged, closing my locker as she did the same.

"Shall we head down then?" I nodded and walked forward, letting her loop her arm in mine. "I freaking love how mad he's been getting and you just walk away now. But he's definitely catching on that something's going on."

"Let him. I'm going to tell him it's a big night tomorrow. He's going to think he's getting lucky and I've just been building the tension. He couldn't be more wrong." We giggled as the other students in the hallway moved out of our way.

"Pops!" We turned out heads behind us to behind us and snapped back around.

"Okay how are we playing this?"

"Same as all week Mia. We're so busy!" I snickered as they reached us. He put his hands on me immediately and I had to hold back a shudder of disgust.

"Hey baby." His voice was making me gag.

"Hey Will. How was your morning?" We carried on walking, Mia clinging on tightly to my arm to keep me grounded.

"It was fine. How was yours?" I could see him looking me up and down as he tried to grab my hand. I started texting the cheer group chat random things so he couldn't.

"It was good yeah. I had oats for breakfast." I nodded, smiling slightly.

"Can we talk a sec Pops?"

"I can't. I've got to get to class." I turned my head to him. "What's up?" He looked at Mia then back to me. "You can talk to me in front of her you know?"

"Nice skirt Poppy." I looked up at Sonny who was holding back his laughter behind me. Oh he wanted him to go off on one didn't he. Thanks Sonny. Mia squeezed my arm tighter and I snickered, turning back to him.

"Is the skirt new?" I could see his eyes growing a dark shade of blue.

"No I just had it taken up a bit. You don't like it?" I looked down at it then back to him. "I think it's cute."

"I think its provocative."

"Then avert your eyes." I raised my eyebrows as we stopped outside our classroom. "I'm not changing my outfit because you can't look away."

"I'm not bothered about me keeping my eyes off you Pops."

"Then let them look. I don't care." I pushed my phone into my bag and dropped Mia's arm, letting her stand there and watch our interaction. "I wear less on game days anyway. It's not like no one has seen me in a short skirt."

"Poppy-"

"No Will. I'm not entertaining it anymore. Go to class." I turned on my heels and he grabbed my arm, pulling me back to him. God I could punch him right now.

"Poppy." I looked at him and fluttered my eyelashes at him. "I'm coming over tonight and we can talk about this."

"Firstly." I pushed his hand off my arm and crossed them across my ribs tightly. "I'm training tonight. We need to perfect the routine for tomorrow."

"After then."

"Secondly. We're not going to be done until late so I'm staying at Mia's." He rolled his eyes. "Thirdly there's nothing to talk about. You're the one with a problem now go to class before I start getting pissed at you for carrying this on."

"What is with you this week? You've been a bitch since Sunday." I raised my eyebrows. "Are you due on?" Of course. What a joke of a boy.

"Get fucked Will." I spun quickly and walked into the class, making sure to swing my hips a little more than normal.

I made my way to the back of the class, sitting on my desk as the girls all chatted amongst themselves.

"You were so mad there." Mia sat opposite me and chuckled. "Deep breathes babe. In 36 hours, you'll be all done with him and we can spend spring break getting wasted."

"We still heading down to the beach house?"

"Of course we are." She nodded. "I've been thinking. Why don't we invite the guys?"

"Which guys?"

"You know-" She looked over as Sonny and a handful of his friends walked in. I was so glad Will wasn't in this class. He smiled at me, putting his stuff down on his desk. His friends were talking at him about something but he was just staring at me, keeping the smile on his lips. "I mean, we're close to them all right? We spend more time with them and the girls than our families. And it's not like you don't have the bedrooms."

I broke his stare and looked back to Mia, spinning on the desk and pulling myself into my seat.

"Yeah maybe we should. They've been great about keeping their mouths shut about all this too." I sighed, looking back up at Sonny. I hadn't checked in with him to see how he was handling the whole Ash thing. I'd find some time to talk to him 1 on 1 today.

The teacher walked in and I opened my textbook as she instructed. I'd definitely moved on from Will. 6 weeks of watching him with her had made it pretty easy. I was seeing guys I'd known for years in new lights now. Like, I'd seen them before but I'd never noticed how attractive they were. I would be 19 at the end of summer. I'd been dating will since my 14th birthday. I'd never been with anyone else. Never looked at anyone else either.

I'm not saying I am ready to date. Not yet. But just seeing guys that I found attractive, that weren't Will, was liberating. It wasn't just Sonny. half of our year had suddenly gone from these scrawny preteen boys to hot ass men. God, anyone of them could take me under.
