I pulled my backpack onto my shoulder and closed my car door. I'm glad that final term is finally starting so that I can get it over with. But the fact he wasn't with me last night meant I couldn't sleep. I was exhausted and grumpy. Never a good mix. But he'll be here. Somewhere. Soon.
I sighed and ran my hand through my hair as I headed into the building. I'd already seen Mia's car, right where it always is. She'd be waiting for me, and she promised she'd get the coffee today. If she hasn't I might actually cry.
She was leaning against my locker, I could make her out in the crowd, coffee in hand. I smiled and walked faster, holding my hands out for the drink I was dying for. I'd woken up late and hadn't been able to make some at home.
"Well good morning to you too." She giggled as I drunk from the paper cup, feeling like it had leaked some life back into my soul. "Tired?"
"Didn't sleep."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm a mess. Why'd you think?" I opened my locker and handed her the coffee back whilst I sorted my books through.
"Well. I'm surprised you're alone this morning, lets just say that."
"He had to go home yesterday when we got back."
"Oh you ended up staying another night?" I looked at her and quickly turned my head back into my locker. "Oh my god you guys did it didn't you?"
"I'm not saying a word." I bit my lip, trying to control the smile breaking out across my face.
"So he finally kissed you." I put my bag back on my shoulder, closing the locker and taking my coffee from her.
"You could say that." I leaned my back against the lockers, watching as people walked by but kept staring at me. "Why's everyone staring?"
"They're trying to find something to gossip about. You spent spring break with a load of hot guys." She rolled her eyes. "They're waiting to find out if your a slut or not." I nodded.
"Maybe I am." I laughed and turned to face her. "Have you seen dick head this morning?"
"No but I've seen his car. So he's here somewhere. Why?"
"I'm just curious as to if he saw the photos of me and Sonny."
"Those are cute soft launch pictures by the way. I know who it is because well I took most of them, but I don't think its in your face obvious unless you know him."
"Good. That was my intention. I just wanted to get his brain thinking about who it could be. I can't wait to see his face when he sees its Sonny. He's going to be pissed and it's going to be hilarious." I drunk from my cup and chuckled at her. "Did you bring your cheer stuff today?"
"Of course I did. Are you mental?"
"Apparently." I rolled my eyes at her chuckling slightly.
"You seem different today Pops." She turned so she was on her side "Like I know you went through a big change just before break and everything but you seem lighter now. Happy."
"I am Mia. He makes me feel things I didn't think you could. And it's so natural too. Like not a single second of us has been forced." I laid my head back, smiling at the thought of him. "Plus he's so hot." I pouted and she started laughing. She was laughing a little too hard and I looked down at her. She was literally in tears. "What's so funny?"
"Your ex." She nodded and I turned my head. I saw him and stood up straight, holding in a snicker myself. "What is he wearing. That's so funny." I put my hand over my mouth, covering my open mouth with silent laughing coming out and turned to her.
"Has he gotten a buzzcut and bleached it. Oh no." I put my hand on her shoulder, holding myself up as I laughed. What a joke.
"What we laughing at?" I felt Sonny's arm around my waist and I laid my head back on him. I couldn't talk for laughing and Mia just nodded and looked over in his direction across the hallway. I turned slightly into Em, letting my laughter calm as his started. "What's with the leather jacket." He chuckled and turned back to me. "Has he been over?"
"No." I shook my head and sipped from my coffee. "I think he's just doing it for the attention if I'm honest. Like he had the head cheerleader. Fucked her about and she left. Now he's not even a jock, a fuck boy with nothing special to give anyone." I shrugged and smiled. "Change of how he dresses is the best way to get people's attention on him."
"Do you want it back on us?" Em smirked and I chuckled.
"You know he'll march right over here don't you?" He shrugged and took his jacket off, putting it over my shoulders. People were already starting to look at us. Mia was pissing herself behind me and I kicked her to get her to stop.
"Ow." She stopped laughing. "He's looking." I watched Em's eyes glisten like they had when we were alone and naked in his bed at the beach house.
He leaned down and kissed me like he did that day. When we were alone. The power behind his lips demanding nothing more than my full attention. I didn't feel it as intensely then but now we had people staring. And I could feel their eyes looking at us both as silence fell through the hallway as Em claimed me as his own. He pulled back and I could feel the blush that had crept over me.
"Oh shit." Mia laughed. I turned my head to her as she sniggered. I smiled and looked up at where she was watching as I took a sip of coffee. He was stood in the middle of the corridor just feet from us. The crowd moving around him but he was stood with his mouth wide.
I looked back up at Em and smiled brightly, bringing the cup away from my lips.
"Kiss me again."
"Seph-"
"Not for him." I moved my hand with my coffee in down to the side, stepping ever so closer to him. I looked down at my feet, moving them so they were between his. "I don't want you to stop." He smirked.
"Not the first time I've heard you say that." I chuckled and he pulled me up so I was on my tiptoes, closer to his height so he could kiss me harder.
