"I need to talk to you." I pulled Mia's arm as she dragged her overnight bag out of the car. This place was already packed with our stuff so we never needed to bring much thankfully.
"Talk then." She raised her eyebrow at me.
"Not here. It has to be private. Have you got your swim stuff on under that?" Nodding at her dress.
"Yeah?"
"Okay, drop our bags and beach." I slammed the trunk shut and walked quickly to open the door as the boys started following.
I had to talk to Mia now. Like right now. I'd been thinking the entire drive and I was starting to panic. I don't know why. I wasn't this morning when we were alone at home. But now we're here. And I am. I dropped my bag behind the front door and moved so the boys could get in.
"Room at the back of the house, far left side is mine and Mia's other than that, have fun exploring. We're going down to the beach." The 4 boys stood in the middle of the house looking around as Mia put her bag down beside mine. "Grab towels." I looked at her as I walked further back into the house, unlocking the patio doors and pushing them open to let the fresh air in.
"Pops?" I turned around and smiled at Oliver. I'd learned the names of the 3 that were joining us. 6 of us in total and everyone got their own rooms. Not too crazy either. It would be fun.
"Oliver."
"Where's the beach?" He smiled and I turned, looking out to the garden. He stepped closer until he was just inches from my back.
"See the gap in the hedges at the back?" I looked back up at him and he nodded. "There's some stairs down there. The code is 0717 to get back in. Just do me a favor?" I turned around and took a step back. "I just need half hour with Mia. No one around. Can you look around up here for a bit?"
"Sure. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Just girl stuff." I smiled and patted his chest as Mia walked back down the stairs. "That code is for anything locked so if you want to see anything. Well except stuff in my room." I smiled and turned around, pulling my top off as Mia joined me and we started walking down to the beach. I laid my head on her shoulder as we passed the pool.
"You're very quiet today. Are you sure you're okay?" Mia looked at me as she stopped at the gate.
"Okay I'm going to tell you something but I need you to be completely calm. At least until no one can see us. Do you understand?" I raised my eyebrows and pushed the gate open, letting her out first and closing it behind myself.
"Oh god are you pregnant?"
"Ew. No. I'd be crying." I smiled. "So, the pasta picture I sent you last night?"
"Oh that looked so good. I'm surprised you didn't burn it though."
"That's because I didn't cook it." She stopped on the steps in front of me, spinning quickly and her eyes going wide. "I may have cropped someone out so you didn't freak."
"Who did you crop out Poppy?" The smirk on her face was growing quickly and I sat down on the steps out of sight, putting my head in my hands.
"He only came over to study. Nothing happened. I swear. But we studied for a good few hours and then decided to have a movie night and well, we woke up in the movie room and I was laid on his bare chest and he wouldn't let me move whilst I was on the phone to you." I looked up at her and pulled my sunglasses back over my eyes.
"Persephone." She put her hand over her mouth. "I am doing my very best to remain calm here." I chuckled and pulled myself to my feet, continuing down the steps ahead of her now. "Who was it? One of the guys?" I nodded and pulled my shoes off my feet, stepping into the sand and turning to face her.
"Who do you think it is?"
"I mean I know who it is. I just want you to say it." She laughed and sat down, lifting her feet up so I could take her shoes off. I only complied because she had the towels and blanket.
"Emerson."
"Sonny?"
"Sonny." I nodded and watched her take a deep breathe to keep calm.
"Can I freak out now?" She stood up and looked behind her, up the stairs to make sure no one was watching her. I smiled and nodded before walking away from her and further down the beach to where we usually sat. She squealed at me like a child, beaming from ear to ear. "I told you he likes you. I knew it." I threw my head back laughing, pulling the blanket from her hands and putting it in the sand, anchoring it in each corner with our shoes.
"I didn't want to move Mia." I stood up and dropped my shorts to the floor, leaving me in a bikini as she pulled her dress of to reveal the same. "He was drawing circles on my back and playing with my hair. It was the best I've slept in months." I tilted my head as she jumped giddily. "Okay, okay calm down." I laughed at her, putting my hand on her forearm.
"I can't. It's Physically impossible." I didn't think it was possible but her smile was getting bigger.
"Okay fine. In the sea. I'll shock it out of you." I laughed and she shook her head, the smile leaving. "I'll just pick you up."
"Don't you dare." I shrugged and grabbed her, putting her over my shoulder. "Its a good job your my best friend or people would think we're the ones dating."
"Shut up you're like my sister." I laughed as she wriggled on my shoulder.
"Put me down!"
"Nope." I laughed as we hit the sea, it wasn't as cold as I was expecting it to be today. I moved in until I was knee deep and threw her off my shoulder, watching with tears in my eyes from the laughter as she stood back up. Soaked.
"That's it." She pushed her hair back off her face and ran towards me, making me scream out.
"MIA." My laughter was louder than it had been the last time we were here. "DON'T-"
