I poured myself another drink as Mia tried to stop laughing but she couldn't.
"Mia you need to stop. I can't fucking breath with you." I was still taking deep breathes from the laughing fit we were just recovering from. I don't even have a clue what we were laughing at. We were talking about her and the boys were going to leave early tomorrow morning, leaving me and Em in bed. And then everything just is a blank.
"What are you two laughing at?" The boys walked over from where they'd been playing on the Xbox together at the other side of the room. I looked at Mia and took a sip from my drink before we erupted into laughter again. "You're both either really drunk already or you've totally lost the plot."
"Oh no we have the plot all lined up." Mia slowed her laughing, laying her head into Blake as she did.
"What plot?" I looked at Em and shrugged, sipping from my drink and walk back to the table where I'd been sat before hand.
"Pops?"
"Yes." I looked up and smiled at Mia.
"Do we still have the ping pong balls upstairs?"
"Probably. If not my dad might have some hidden from the other year when he confiscated them."
"Oh god I remember that. He was pissed." She stood up and went upstairs, pulling Blake by his hand as he did.
"What's going on with you tonight?" Em sat down beside me and I raised an eyebrow. "You've barely spoken to me. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I smiled, not really wanting to talk about it.
"Okay." He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "Come outside with me. I'm too warm." I nodded, taking his hand as he stood up. Liam and Oliver were playing on the Xbox again. Totally unaware that they were now alone in the room as he closed the door behind us. He led me down to the pool, taking my drink from my hand and putting it down beside me.
"I've had the best week here with you. You know that right?"
"Are you sure?" He put his hands around my waist, hugging me tightly.
"More than sure." He smiled down at me. "I think we need to talk about what you want to do next about us. Before we go home and it all gets busy."
"Ookayy." I dragged the word out, not knowing where he was going with this.
"Shall we sit down?" I nodded and he dropped his hands from me, pulling a deck chair up to me and sitting down, patting the seat beside him, inviting me to join him. "Want me to go first?"
"Yeah." I grabbed my drink and turned to face him, bringing on knee up onto the seat.
"Okay." He sighed and put on hand onto my calf. "I really like you. Like really like you. You left to get ready tonight and I just missed you so much. You were literally like 3 rooms over. I never thought I'd feel this way about someone so quickly. I've been trying to think of a way to ask you out and ask you to prom without coming across too heavy and I just can't. So I'll start with the first one. When we get home, do you want to go out on a proper date. Not a movie night or anything. Like dinner, flowers, the whole thing?"
I looked at him as he tilted his head when I didn't answer. Hold off Poppy. I took a sip of my drink to ease myself into it. I still didn't answer and I could see him getting confused.
"Okay." He started breathing again and I chuckled.
"Did you do that on purpose?"
"What watching you squirm for my answer? Hell yes I did." He put his tongue in his cheek and shook his head.
"You're so funny." He rolled his eyes dramatically but the grip on my leg tightened, showing me he was just playing. "Okay, One answer down, one more to go. Prom?"
"What about it?"
"Go with me?"
"Are you okay? You seem to be only able to form short sentences." I took another sip of my drunk and he dug his fingernails into me making me laugh.
"You're going to make me ask you properly aren't you?" I looked up at him, keeping the cup close to my lips. "Okay fine. I'll bite. Persephone St. James. Will you do me the honour of letting me take you to prom where I can show you off like you deserve to be?"
"See was it really that hard?" I giggled and put the cup down on the side, quickly climbing onto his lap. "What would you do if I said no now?"
"I'd throw you in the pool."
"You would not."
"Would it get you out of this dress and into my bed?"
"Well Yeah I guess."
"Then I'll do it now." I clung to him tightly.
"No." He stopped moving when he noticed the concern on my face. "I really like this dress." He threw his head back with laughter.
"You really had me worried then." I shrugged and he smiled brightly at me again. "Okay there's still a few more things." He pulled me onto his lap tighter and I wrapped my legs around him, resting them on the chair. "There's going to be lots of people asking questions when we get back to school and with Will being about. I need to know what you're comfortable telling them is going on between us."
"Tell them."
"Tell them what?" I lifted my shoulders and dropped them quickly.
"Everything. I mean. The photos I've posted and the ones I've got ready to post on Sunday are pretty self explanatory anyway. I'm not hiding us from him just because he's a jealous asshole. However with that said, I am a pretty private person. I don't want whatever we are to be a secret, but I don't want to be full on making out in the hallways either." He nodded.
"Okay good, we're in agreement then."
"About what?"
"That you're my girlfriend."
